With the fantastic response of the previous day of prayer, Faith, OhioWFan, Kayak and those involved with the Pray for Bush effort are offering Freepers the opportunity to once again bathe the President in prayer between now and the completion of the 3rd debate. With the dirty tricks being played by the left, I'm sure you can agree that this is needed and welcomed. Please pick an hour listed below (in Eastern Standard Time) let us know if you would like to participate. More than one person may sign up for a particular time, but let's try to fill each slot first so that we definately have all 24 hours covered.
God Bless you & President Bush!
O Father our King, we plead that Psalm 91 would be applied spiritually to our brother-President tomorrow, as he faces an opponent skilled in the craftiness and deceit of the Evil One. Grant that Your angels will have charge over our brother, lifting him far above the Pit of Falsehoods Kerry plans to dig for his entrapment, and grant, Sweet King, that our President will again be given Your Power, that he might trample Kerry's Invisible Advisors beneath his feet. May we behold with our own eyes the reward of the Wicked, even Kerry humiliated and covered with shame. We ask these things in the Name of our dear Christ, and for His Glory, amen.
prayer bump
Bump!
Throughout the day I will be praying for our President.
That's great! Let me add Psalm 140 and Psalm 64. I was praying through these tonight.
Psalm 140:
1Rescue me, O Lord, from evil men;
protect me from men of violence,
2who devise evil plans in their hearts
and stir up war every day.
3They make their tongues as sharp as a serpent's;
the poison of vipers is on their lips.
4Keep me, O Lord, from the hands of the wicked;
protect me from the men of violence
who plan to trip my feet.
5Proud men have hidden a snare for me;
they have spread out the cords of their net
and have set traps for me along my path.
6O Lord, I say to you, "You are my God."
Hear O Lord, my cry for mercy.
7O Sovereign Lord, my strong deliverer,
who shields my head in the day of battle ---
8do not grant the wicked their desires, O Lord;
do not let their plans suceed,
or they will become proud.
9Let the heads of those who surround me
be covered with the trouble their lips have caused.
10Let burning coals fall upon them;
may they be thrown into the fire,
into miry pits, never to rise.
11 Let slanderers not be established in the land;
may disaster hunt down men of violence.
12I know that the Lord secures justice for the poor
and upholds the cause of the needy.
13Surely the rihteous will praise your name
and the upright will live before you.
FYI information ping.
Tonk, Kayak-thankyou for the pings.
Psalm 64:
1Hear me, O God, as I voice my complaint;
protect my life from the threat of the enemy.
2Hide me from the conspiracy of the wicked,
from that noisy crowd of evildoers.
3They sharpen their tongues like swords
and aim thier words like deadly arrows.
4They shoot from ambush at the innocent man;
they shoot at him suddenly, without fear.
5They encourage each other in evil plans,
they talk about hiding their snares;
they say, "Who will see them?"
6They plot injustice and say,
"We have devised a perfect plan!"
Surely the mind and the heart of man are cunning.
7But God will shoot them with arrows;
suddenly they will be struck down.
8He will turn their own tongues against them
and bring them to ruin;
all who see them will shake their heads in scorn.
9All mankind will fear;
they will proclaim the works of God
and ponder what he has done.
10Let the righteous rejoice in the Lord
and take refuge in him;
let all the upright in their heart praise him!
You have blessed our nation above all others and have poured out Your abundance upon America. Throughout most of our history, our people have honored You and hallowed Your name. But for some time now the forces of darkness have eroded the faith of our fathers and have turned our nation from Your commandments. Many in our land have fallen into decadence, being driven by greed and power; seeking a culture of death; furthering those behaviors that You call an abomination; removing prayer from our schools; and now even trying to remove Your very Name from our public buildings.
Your remnant have heard Your voice and have called out to You in repentance, pleading with You to forgive us and heal our land. You provided us with a leader who knows You and calls Your name; who honors loyalty and decency; who proclaims You as the Lord of his life. The forces of evil have come out even stronger against this good man, Your servant George W. Bush.
Father, we come to You on his behalf, joining together in praise for You and in petition for our nation's soul. Bind the hands of satan, O Lord, during the debate on Wednesday night and in the coming weeks leading up to the election. The enemy is strong and determined but You, Almighty God, are more powerful. The victory is Yours, O Lord, won on the Cross of Calvary.
We ask that You provide our President with clarity of thought and with wisdom in the debate. Give him quickness of mind to parry the questions that will be set as a trap for him. Enfold him in Your peace and let him feel Your presence with him. Put Your words in his mouth that he may speak Your truth. Let those questions and statements that are intended to be darts that will hurt him be turned back and reflect on the one who slings them.
Shine Your light of Truth on the words spoken at the debate that lies and deceit might be obvious to all who hear. Open the eyes and the ears of the pundits and newscasters who comment on the debate that they might be fair and honest in their assessments of the debate and not twist the words to suit their own agenda. Send Your Holy Spirit across our land, convicting our people of the error of their ways and opening their hearts to Your goodness, Your mercy, and Your glory. May Your Name be praised and may Your Kingdom be glorified in the debate and afterwards. In the Name of Jesus. Amen.
Please add me to the 'praying throughout the day' list.
Agreeing with your beautiful prayer, dear sister, and praying it out loud right now.
