Can you spare an hour to pray? 24 Hour Prayer Signup for Third Debate
http://www.prayforgeorgewbush.com ^ | October 12, 2004 | Blogger

Posted on 10/12/2004 4:20:35 PM PDT by Blogger

With the fantastic response of the previous day of prayer, Faith, OhioWFan, Kayak and those involved with the Pray for Bush effort are offering Freepers the opportunity to once again bathe the President in prayer between now and the completion of the 3rd debate. With the dirty tricks being played by the left, I'm sure you can agree that this is needed and welcomed. Please pick an hour listed below (in Eastern Standard Time) let us know if you would like to participate. More than one person may sign up for a particular time, but let's try to fill each slot first so that we definately have all 24 hours covered.

God Bless you & President Bush!

GRACE TO YOU BRETHREN!

Ps 27:1 A Psalm of David. The LORD is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?
2 When the wicked came against me To eat up my flesh, My enemies and foes, They stumbled and fell.
3 Though an army may encamp against me, My heart shall not fear; Though war should rise against me, In this I will be confident.
4 One thing I have desired of the LORD, That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD All the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the LORD, And to inquire in His temple.
5 For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; In the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock.
6 And now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies all around me; Therefore I will offer sacrifices of joy in His tabernacle; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the LORD.
7 Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice! Have mercy also upon me, and answer me.
8 When You said, "Seek My face," My heart said to You, "Your face, LORD, I will seek."
9 Do not hide Your face from me; Do not turn Your servant away in anger; You have been my help; Do not leave me nor forsake me, O God of my salvation.
10 When my father and my mother forsake me, Then the LORD will take care of me.
11 Teach me Your way, O LORD, And lead me in a smooth path, because of my enemies.
12 Do not deliver me to the will of my adversaries; For false witnesses have risen against me, And such as breathe out violence.
13 I would have lost heart, unless I had believed That I would see the goodness of the LORD In the land of the living.
14 Wait on the LORD; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the LORD!
(NKJV)

Dear Lord,
thankyou for this day, this moment, this second.
thankyou for this time Your saints can gather before the majesty of Your throne of grace, that we may send our prayers and supplications toward home.
Lord,we pray for all of Your saints and especially for george walker bush, laura bush, jenna and barbara bush and the executive branch.
Lord,we pray for our brother and Your servant george bush, that through Your grace he is infilled by the holy spirit and has the glow of Your adoption which will fill the need of confidence in a godly man of all who watch the debate tomorrow.
Lord,we know You are in total soveriegn control, and Your saints pray that this land stays on a godly path despite the evil liars that want to blind citizens with their words.

Ro 5:1 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
2 through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
3 And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance;
4 and perseverance, character; and character, hope.
5 Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
6 For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die.
8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
(NKJV)

"The Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost."
- John 14:26

This age is peculiarly the dispensation of the Holy Spirit, in which Jesus
cheers us, not by his personal presence, as he shall do by-and-by, but by
the indwelling and constant abiding of the Holy Ghost, who is evermore the
Comforter of the church. It is his office to console the hearts of God's
people. He convinces of sin; he illuminates and instructs; but still the
main part of his work lies in making glad the hearts of the renewed, in
confirming the weak, and lifting up all those that be bowed down. He does
this by revealing Jesus to them. The Holy Spirit consoles, but Christ is
the consolation. If we may use the figure, the Holy Spirit is the
Physician, but Jesus is the medicine. He heals the wound, but it is by
applying the holy ointment of Christ's name and grace. He takes not of his
own things, but of the things of Christ. So if we give to the Holy Spirit
the Greek name of Paraclete, as we sometimes do, then our heart confers on
our blessed Lord Jesus the title of Paraclesis. If the one be the
Comforter, the other is the Comfort. Now, with such rich provision for his
need, why should the Christian be sad and desponding? The Holy Spirit has
graciously engaged to be thy Comforter: dost thou imagine, O thou weak and
trembling believer, that he will be negligent of his sacred trust? Canst
thou suppose that he has undertaken what he cannot or will not perform? If
it be his especial work to strengthen thee, and to comfort thee, dost thou
suppose he has forgotten his business, or that he will fail in the loving
office which he sustains towards thee? Nay, think not so hardly of the
tender and blessed Spirit whose name is "the Comforter.
" He delights to give the oil of joy for mourning, and the garment of
praise for the spirit of heaviness.
Trust thou in him, and he will surely comfort thee till the house of
mourning is closed for ever, and the marriage feast has begun.

Since all of the time slots are taken, I will instead try to spend at least 5 minutes of every waking hour from now until election night--and maybe afterwards--praying for Dubya's re-election.

Thank you giotto. I hope not afterwards (as in recount)! Hope it is a clear strong victory. But God bless you as You lift up our President in prayer!

We do lift our voices to You in Praise, O Mighty God, Lord of Heaven and Earth, for Your Lovingkindness to our brother-President, and to us, in Your Marvellous Display of Grace and Power as You Exalted our brother in Your Strength, and Abased his opponent in his own shame. Great are You, our Blessed Redeemer! Awesome and Excellent are Your Ways, O King of all saints!

We plead that Thy Hand of Might and Power will rest once again upon our dear President, that You would hinder Kerry's planned diatribe of lies, and most of all that You, O King, would be Exalted tomorrow night in the eyes of all who observe the debate, O Sovereign Lord of Strength, Dominion and Power! We Bless Your Name, Sweet King, and we Praise You with all our hearts, and pray in the Beautiful Name of our Blessed one, amen.

I will pray in the hour I took last time...2PM Central. I also will pray thoughout the day.

Lord God,

Hear my plea for President Bush in the debate tomaorrow night. Although this is a venue which makes him uncomfortable, let him feel the presence of Your Spirit, and make him sense the people in the audience, so that he can speak with natural grace and humility. Surround him with Your angels of protection, and let no evil come against him.

I earnestly pray this for the good of our nation, and that Your Power and Glory may be seen by all the nation.

In Jesus' Name,
Amen.

Me too, pretty much. I like the set aside time which helps me to focus in a special way and get rid of the "interference".
