Thank you for making that distinction, I was just about to do it myself.

As an aside, if stem cell research held the promise that these liberal groups think it does, private research firms would be knocking each other down to get there first. I don't see them volunteering their capital for this research, do I?

I hate to bring this up, but the politicization of Reeves is bound to happen, as Begala has started, so here goes. I wonder whether in prep for the debate Kerry got a heads-up from the Reeves family that Reeves was near death? I find it incredible that Kerry just happens to mention Reeves Friday night. I would NOT find it hard to believe that Kerry would use Reeves' impending death to magnify his stance on stem-cell research.

This is not meant to be a smear on Reeves, who was an inspiration given the tragedy he suffered.

He did not fail to mention that George W. Bush opposes embryonic stem cell research but John Kerry and Nancy Reagan favor it.

Correction. Not correcting you, but Begala.

George W. Bush DOES support embryonic stem cell research along with adult and umbilical stem cell research. However, Bush does NOT support destroying any more embryos and fetuses to support stem cell research. There are already some stem cell lines from embryos who have already been destroyed and the research will be done using those lines, using adult stem cells, or using umbilical stem cells. Kerry wishes and Reeve wished to destroy further life to support research that only has a minute chance of having any real benefit.

All these years, Reeves has been talking about funding research for "nerve cell regeneration" which appears to be promising. Where's all the dope on him switching to stem cell research?? I can't find it.

Democrats are the most ghoulish people in the world. They try to turn every death, funeral, et cetera into a political statement. They have no couth.

When I first heard of Chris Reeve's death, I couldn't help but think that the Dem's would somehow try and use this against Bush. Looks as if I were right.

It seems that I remember Bill Clinton being President during more years of Mr. Reeve's paralysis than President Bush. Why are they not hammering Clinton for not getting him cured?

I was thinking this very thing this morning. Add to that the fact the Pres. Bush has allowed the strains that exist to be used. They can't logically argue that Pres. Bush killed Mr. Reeves.

But they will....

If Begala and his group make more of this than they have, like a commercial against Bush or something, I hope it becomes this election's Wellstone moment.

Michael Reagan has challenged Kerry to a debate about stem cells - he actually works for with an Alzheimers Research group. What do you wanna bet Kerry ignores him? Of course, Ballerina Ron is on Begala's side and I'm sure will take no time to start blasting Bush. He will probably be on PMSNBC tonight.

Okay, I'll probably get hammered for this but...so? Christopher Reeves was a wealthy actor who was injured in a sport that requires alot of investment, not your Average Joe. I'm sorry he was hurt and now died. But it hasn't been proven that stem cells would have helped him. And there are many other people without his resources who suffer from diseases that need far more support. Entertainers who suddenly find something to support because it now affects them...is this the true meaning of love thy neighbor? Those average people who give their time and money to causes because they believe in them, not because it might benefit them, are truly heroes.

The media is all over this and exploiting it. They use John Kerry and talk about how Kerry wanted to help Reeve and Bush didn't.

Be-GAG-la simply had a quicker microphone. I'm sure wittle Wonnie Weagen will have some inane, snarky monlogue to deliver whenever he next curses our airwaves.

As for Susan Ostrich-mouth... I'm serious here... can you see the strings on her. I swear she is one of Henson's Muppets. How many oranges could you put in that cavernous mouth of hers?

Get ready. It's going to get nastier and more outrageous as the election approaches. The Dims (great label whoever came up with that) have lawyers spread out like cockroaches, oppressed minorities from central casting ready to act properly outraged on cue, and every elite media outlet ready to instantly transcribe whatever bogus claims they make verbatim on their pages and airwaves.

The best defense against this lunacy is a little jujitsu. Bush supporters need to do everything in their power to simply expose these folks for who and what they are. Hey, CBS... nailed. ABC... nailed. NBC... you're on the clock.
