IF John Kerry loses the presidential election, ''Unfit for Command,'' by John E. O'Neill and Jerome R. Corsi, will go down as a chief reason. The book -- a sort of companion piece to the political attack ads placed by O'Neill's group, Swift Boat Veterans for Truth -- is a furious assault on Kerry's character and service in Vietnam. Navy records have discredited the book's claim that Kerry lied to get his Bronze Star and third Purple Heart -- though only after the sensation hijacked cable news for a month....."
Susannah Meadows is covering the Kerry campaign for Newsweek.

Gee I wonder what her politics are?
In any case the first line, in Bold, is true and Kerry more than has it coming. The rest of the review is vituperative crap.
heh. They say that like there's something wrong with Kerry losing. :-)
I can't believe that would make them happy.
How does a "Navy record" based on an after action report written by Joh Kerry "discredit" the eye witness accounts of other individuals who were actually present at the action?
Heh... is this the first time NYT has published a review of it? They're sure on top of everything, aren't they
"though only after the sensation hijacked cable news for a month....."
Ah, what mainstream media outlet replaced the Swift Boats Vets telling the real JFKerry "war" story, none other than CBS hoax using fake documents.
That was the agenda for Rather and JFKerry campaign, what ever it takes get the Swift Boats Vets off the radar.
Well, it is the NY Times. Some folks just won't get happy over any good thing. :-)

Thomas Lipscomb just wrote an article that said he uncovered the original report on Kerry's bronze star, and then he proved that it was Kerry who wrote the report. For this lady to say that 'official navy documents' prove the swifties are lying is a joke. The official navy document that resulted in JFK getting his bronze star was written by JFK, and it was filled with lies. His own website shows 'official navy documents' signed by John Lehman, who wasn't Sec of Navy until 1982, and who says he never signed nor authorized the commendations which Kerry displays on his website. A real reporter would ask questions when confronted with inconsistencies like these, unfortunately the MSM seems to have a lack of real reporters these days.......

How great can Navy records be when they don't even keep copies of the discharge certificates?
Navy records have discredited the book's claim that Kerry lied to get his Bronze Star....
What the Navy actually said was that the paperwork was processed in accordance with Naval procedures in effect at the time.
GOD BLESS JOHN O'NEIL AND THE SWIFT BOAT VETS.
The book is still unavailable from Barnes and Noble, the only local bookseller---except by special order---but there are ten thousand copies of My Life prominently displayed. I suppose it will suddenly become available November 3rd.
I don't care overmuch if Kerry lied about getting a gazillion medals. What riles me up is what he said and did after he came back from the war. They used to shoot traitors, didn't they?
Bingo, my thoughts exactly. This reviewer sounds like she put a whole 15 minutes of research and thought into this review. Newsweek has really gone downhill in the last 15 years. It's nothing more than liberal propaganda today, written by journalism majors who know nothing about business, economics, science, or national security issues.
Different title, I guess that is why the search did not catch it.
WHAT! COME ON!
The timing is interesting; months after the book entered the best-seller list, it gets a review. Already with the excuses, and the election is over 3 weeks away. No, the book is a small part of it, granted, but what will cost Kerry is the fact that his largest base of supporters happen to live in the main target areas of Islamo-Fascist terrorists.
