Charley Gibson's choice of a last question was a dirty trick.

Yep, that it was. Rotten to the core.

Dubya handled it well, though.

"...I loved the line where sKerry said I can tell no one here makes more than $200K..."

Me too. I thought he was insulting!

Saying no one in the audience made more than $200,000 was a stupid thing for him to say. Had he check out everyones clothes and decided they came from Target? What a snob!

Afterward the debate, I loved the way everyone wanted their picture taken with the president and the first lady. You sure didn't see them trying to get pictures with the Kerry's!!!!

Laura is just so gracious. My husband even said that she is beautiful - and he NEVER says that (unless she is about 20 and perfect looking). I was shocked - and pleased. She is.

I loved the line where sKerry said I can tell no one here makes more than $200K...this smuck is toast...

No kidding. What a stupid thing to say. This statement by Kerry was the most revealing thing he said all night. It speaks volumes about his world view and his elitist thoughts of how John Forbes Kerry fits into that world.

And think about this: Not only did he think it, but he also said it. He said it out loud in front of millions of people without batting an eye. After all, doesn't everyone think that way? Doesn't everyone recognize his aristocracy and his entitlement to the United States Presidency?

He and Martha Stewart are two peas in a pod.

I agree, that last question Charlie asked was underhanded. There was no opportunity to address and counter Kerry's negative assertions about our president.

And that's when I saw Kerry smirk. It was a subtle tic; Kerry's face never moves much.

I agree. If your face has been nuked with Botox, about the only thing you can manage is a smirk.

But what I am waiting for is the press to jump all over President Bush's misstatement that Kennedy was the most liberal Senator. Surely, the media will be quick to point out that Bush was wrong: According to the National Journal (and several other tracking institutions), the most liberal senator is John Kerry. Just go to factcheck.org, or read any newspaper. Yeah, right! LOL!

Not only was Dubya working on the day of the first debate, but there were all those white powder incidents in Florida on the same day. I'll bet part of his attention was on those incidents as well.

If not for MSM bias I doubt a Democrat could legitimately win the Presidency.

The thing is if not for MSM bias, the democrat party would be a completely different animal, populated by a totally different cast of characters. They simply do not hold the party to account for much of anything, which is what has led to the democrat leaders being so morally and ethically bankrupt.

The news media's favorite party would be much stronger if the media had held them to account all along, and the country would be better for it.

I love the idea of people like Zell Miller rehabilitating the party, but I don't see much of a chance of it happening in my lifetime.

I would love it if the opposition party had some integrity. I'd probably still vote against them most of the time, but we wouldn't be facing a do or die scenario such as Bush or Kerry for president, as we are now.

jfffffffnk's current owner, ms terrazza, was in the audience and she makes more than $ 200 K, but lurch, on his own, has never made more than what he can steal from the senate.

Actually he said 'Need some wood?" and then he did his patented chuckle and he seemed to really be relaxed and poke fun at Kerry. It was great.

Fox News interviewed a Newsweek reporette this morning. She was stern and serious as she basically reported that Kerry won the debate. She went on to talk about Bush's "lie" about the lumber company, referring to factcheck.org, saying that Bush does indeed own an interest in a lumber company. She didn't explain that he owns a ONE-PERCENT interest and made all of $84 in one year.

Anyway, she started genuinely laughing, saying how funny she found his "Need some wood" comment. Her laugh was great because I could see she was struggling not to like him, but he charmed her. She didn't want to be charmed by him, but she was.

I thought that was a mistake when I typed it. But I thought the P only made a little over 200,000.
