I posit that it was GW following on Kerry's gross gaffe that Bush is a lumber mogul ...
Said our debonair President: 'I own a lumber company? Didn't know that. ... ... Want some wood?

I felt it was when he responded, despite Charlie Gibson's objection, that we aren't fighting in Iraq all by ourselves...He was passionate. That's why people love him. He was fired up and was on his game tonite.

It was a good line, and I think Bush said it because he was genuinely flustered for the only time tonight.
He was feverishly going through his mental card file trying to figure out what Kerry could be talking about, and he knew he had to say something, so he threw out what turned out to be a very good line.

Some wood ought to be administered to MaMa T. (two bagger-one for the volunteer and one for her in case the volunteers bag falls off)

In old Anglo-Saxon parlance, to be "wood" was to be insane.

Here is where this idiot got it from.
President Bush himself would have qualified as a "small business owner" under the Republican definition, based on his 2001 federal income tax returns. He reported $84 of business income from his part ownership of a timber-growing enterprise
