I felt it was when he responded, despite Charlie Gibson's objection, that we aren't fighting in Iraq all by ourselves...He was passionate. That's why people love him. He was fired up and was on his game tonite.

He took him out to the woodshed when they left.

Actually, I agree that the President's more serious and heart-felt comments were more compelling. Still, I thought 'Want some wood' was up there with 'Where's the Beef' and truly extemporaneous.

OMG, I loved that, he just took the opportunity, he didn't let the moderator stiff him out of that one.

(If Kerry wins the election will he flip-flop on Edwards and ask Saddam to be VP?)

I was rather proud of that one...you could see the exact moment when he let truth override formality and ignored Gibson entirely.
I felt like he was saying, "I am the President of the United States, and what I am saying is a lot more important than your little dinky parliamentary procedures."
A good demonstration of strength and decisiveness, to boot.

Agree, Bush kept Kerry off balance for a good part of the debate. Kerry just looked uncomfortable and awkward and never got into a rhythm like he did last time. Bush is simply more positive, likeable, and straight forward. Kerry is negative, aloof, and dissembling. The contrast was obvious tonight.
With Cheney winning the last debate, Pubbies are now ahead 2 to 1.

Me too on your answer. That was the best real answer. The best answer otherwise was the "want some wood?"
