Bush is showing humor, grace and intelligence. He's really winning this crowd over.
T-minus 10 minutes and counting--Keep Praying!

Citing Dred Scott as an example of personal opinion interferring with the court. ;)

The stem cell issue has both of the stuttering, but Bush at least says it must be done with respect for life.
Kerry's defense of extended embryonic cell research just lost him the Catholic vote bigtime. It's a big issue in the Church, Catholic media is all over this issue stopping just short of advising Catholics, : "Vote for Bush or else!"

A got a dollar that says Kerry speaks about the horrors of a litmus test, then explains why he will only nominate a justice who will strictly enforce a "woman's right to choose."

A Great answer, led by a laugh line, to the bear trap "Supreme Court" question...
This will clinch it for many people.

You're right. This is really disgusting - even for Kerry. The President offers a reasoned and balanced approach to life and scientific inquiry, and Kerry accuses him of "waffling".

900,000 embryos in cryogenic storage.
3 of those are mine.
Mr. Kerry. Those three will not be discarded or remain frozen.
Within the next year, we will use those frozen embryos in an attempt concieve however many children the Lord wills for us.
But they will be used, Mr. Kerry -but not for research! They will be used for the express purpose of having more children.
We already have 1 absolutely beautiful 17 month little girl from our embryos. We hope to have even more!

I have to admit, I was STUNNED by how comfortable Bush is in this setting.
Again, someone underestimates W and he kicks their ass. (in this case, mine). ;-)

Supreme Court question. 'Bout time. Good answer from Bush, although a weird Dred Scott digression.
To: rwfromkansas
Bush is asked if vacancy on Supreme Court. "Not telling" he jokes but then goes on to say it would be someone who does not allow their personal opinoin to enter into following the law.
One example is someone who does not think the "under God" in pledge should be there. That's personal opinion, not law.
Strict constructionist. Legislators make laws.
