The Soviets simply put out a story without regard to the niceties of memo spin. The media in the USSR knew their heads would roll if a deviation ocurred so the lies were straightforward - no complexities. There was no opposition so they had little need to fight a battle of containment. In terms of opposition news being beamed in, the commies just jammed the signal or jailed the miscreant.

But here, the liars need to finesse the moderates and anti-PC hold-outs. They have to distort and lie to their ideological troops to provide fresh anger and hate, they need to lie to the moderates and mom & pop at home in the heartland with worldviews full of dispair and misery and, finally, they have to cover-up the grotesque evil within their ranks. Lie, lie, lie and at every turn, lie some more.

Give 'em some time and they'll learn to kill their enemies as well.

At that number asked if I was with ABC, "No, I'm a consumer", said he knew nothing "Well you better find something out soon because it's your network's representative who is moderating tonight's debate. If this is true, this is a very serious offense".
