My brother (XJarhead) lives in North Olmsted, which is quite close to Cleveland Hopkins International Airport and NASA Glenn Research Center. Lots of planes in that part of town.

Under normal twinkling conditions ( most clear nights ) you can see the colors more distinctly by looking through binoculars and swirling them around in a tight circle, so the stars make loops in the field of view. You will see the colors spread out along the loops. ( Make sure no one is watching you :-)

This is exactly what that looks like, and I think it's very likely that's what we're seeing in the video shots. They would be single frames of a jittery magnified star.
