Bill (I Hate Your Guns) Lockyer must be smoking some bad crap. But he is right - the California Legislature full of goony birds will go right along with this lunacy.

And when someone steals your bullets....
the cops will drive right to your house to arrest you.

This would only work on criminals too stupid to file off the id numbers. Better yet they could mismatch casings with the bullets and frame other people.

Why don't they just bar-code all the criminals?

I hope this is defeated, but like you, I fear it will fly through with little resistance. Another way to gain control over gun owners. I'm so glad that I don't live in CA. That said, if this 'plan' is successful, it could be bad news for all gun owners.

It seems these guys have never heard of an intertial bullet puller. For the price of a $20 tool you can put a new lead bullet in your case.

Get some wheel weights, put them in a pot, turn up the heat, put them in your $10 mold and be happy.
Or else just buy unmarked ammo on the Mexican border. There is usually a table for unmarked bullet ammo set up right next to the Freon R-12 sales table, right across from the crack table. They usually have all you want. </sarcasm>

California's attorney general wants to crack down on gun violence.... ... a state that already has some of the toughest such laws in the United States.
But this can't be. If they already have tough gun control laws, then (glub, glub) how can they have so much gun violence?
They need more tough laws which should alleviate the problem.
