They gave so little support to the GOP that Karl Rove doesn't even count them in the "likely voters" column anymore.

And then they wonder why Rove doesn't give them what they want.

Not to worry, if anyone would just pick up their cell and call McClintock's office they would have been able to confirm that what you have posted is indeed correct...

Welcome to FR...

I apologize for my fellow FReepers who may have been rude to you on your first day posting.

yes"

Yes - you have information that Arnold won't run again; or yes, it's just a hunch?

It quite ok. I'm not mad at all. I was pretty surprised of what kind of welcoming that I would get. *Laughs*

I can understand that its very unusual for anyone newbie to post a lot of stuff. It just that I'm so excited about about McClintock's e-mail message that I decided to tell you guys that McClintock is really running for the Lt. Governor seat here in CA.

I know that there has been a couple of threads here at the FR website that McClintock "might" run for the Lt. Governor. I read the LA Times article last month and I had a hard time believing that a great conservative would rather run for Lt. Governor instead of Governor or US Senate so I decided to e-mail Mr. McClintock about this and to my amazementI even got an e-mail response from him. Unbelievable!

I always thought that I would never ever get an e-mail response from a public offical. I tried e-mailing to Pres. Bush and my senators. Yet, I never got a response from any them concerning issues such as immigration and free-trade.

Sorry everybody if you had a hard time believing me because I really am very serious about this. Its no joking matter. As a Christian, I know that lying is a sin and if I were to post something that isn't true, I wouldn't do it at all.

Yeah, I heard about that. Newsmax.com a while back ago posted an article claiming that Arnold will not run for again for Governor. I had to question whether or not if that is true. I hope it is true because its about time that we need a true conservative to replace Arnold.

Yet, I read an AP article that stated that Arnold might be in Terminator 4. So, techincally I'm having a gut-feeling that Arnold wants to go back to the movie industry.

Tom has established four campaign committees: McClintock for Senate, McClintock for controller, McClintock for governor, and McClintock for lieutenant governor. [See Timm Herdt's Sept. 17, 2004 article for more details.]

It's quite likely that Tom will run for Lt. Governor in 2006, but nothing is certain. If Schwarzenegger decides not to run for re-election (unlikely), Tom will probably run for Governor. If Steve Westly doesn't run for re-election as State Controller (which would only be the case if he decides to run for Governor instead) then Tom might run again for State Controller. It's a certainty that Tom will run for some state office in 2006, given that he'll be termed-out of his State Senate seat in 2008.

As to the political consequences of letting it be known that he will run for state office in the middle of his term, there are none. Tom will coast to an easy victory in his State Senate race this year.

WOW, I didn't even know that McClintock would even established four campaign committees. Tom McClintock needs to make up his mind before he goes bonkers with it. I would rather prefer for him to make up his mind as soon as possible.

I already know that current Lt. Governor Cruz "MECHA" Bustamante will run for some other office. So, I'm very confident that a Republican like McClintock will take over the Lt. Governor seat.

I heard a while back ago that Bill Simon might run for state Tresurer in 06'. But its too early for me to say. I rather not believe it until I see it happening.

Tom has a blog link on his Senate site. No mention of his intentions listed here or elsewhere, however.

The problem is this: The republican party leaders in California are for open borders and sending our jobs to Mexico. They must be ousted before Arnold can be. I also believe they are morally and ethically challenged. Do you remember the woman who alleged Arnold molested her during the campaign? I don't know if that was true, but the party leaders found the arrest record of a woman with the same name. They knew it wasn't the accuser, but a few days prior to the election, released it and implied she was one in the same. Arnold also said "bodybuilding is better than cumming" during the election on the Oprah show. The party leaders no longer take issue with immorality and it is no longer my party. I refuse to vote republican until the party kicks out the neo-cons, gets concerned with blue collar Americans and stops spending like liberal banshees.

"If I gave you the kind of "support" the "conservatives" gave to the GOP since 1994, I'd be thrown in jail for assault and battery..."

So, true copnservatives may "batter" the party, but they still stay don't they? Its time to stop battering the republicans and just leave them. Which do you think they would prefer? Wise up, conservatives. If you still vote for this party, there is no incentive for them to change. The choice for them is lost campaign funds from special interests or lost votes. It is time for us to get wise and dole out consequences instead of coddling this party until they throw you a little bone. If there are actual consequences, they will move back into place. But Americans are too chicken to even take a little political risk, when our forefathers started a revolution. The way it is now--its a slow death. We keep letting them take us further and further off course, slowly but surely. If you think it is critical NOW that we don't allow democrats into the white house, think of how bad it will be in ten years. If we keep electing the same people while not demanding change in the party, it will be too late to resolve our biggest problems through the ballot box.

Only as long as the walking-around money lasts.

By the way, followerofchrist, what's your take on folks who take GOP walking-around money for voter outreach, then use it to run smear campaigns against the GOP candidate by making false allegations against said candidate? Are they "true conservatives?" Because that's what your ilk likes to do.

Y'all couldn't be bothered to generate votes for Bill Simon. If you aren't willing to vote for Bill Simon because he isn't conservative enough for you, then you really have no hope of ever getting your way.

Its time to stop battering the republicans and just leave them.

You already did. Rove and company do not view you as likely voters; therefore, you're not worth keeping happy.

Which do you think they would prefer? Wise up, conservatives. If you still vote for this party, there is no incentive for them to change.

Well, guess what? If you get a reputation for not voting for the GOP at all (which is what the "true conservatives" have richly earned over the past decade), then there is no incentive for the GOP to do your bidding.

You know what you and your fellows' biggest problem is? Y'all do not know how to receive charity in a gracious manner, because charity is what you've gotten over the years relative to your turnout.

The choice for them is lost campaign funds from special interests or lost votes.

Uh, no.

The choice is lost votes either way; the question is whether the votes they gain from favoring the one side are greater than the votes they gain from favoring the other.

The "true conservatives" have demonstrated, repeatedly, that gaining one vote from a "true conservative" loses more than two votes from elsewhere. Therefore, keeping you people willing to vote GOP is a net vote loser.

You've priced your vote out of the market. Sorry 'bout that, but it wasn't my decision.

It is time for us to get wise and dole out consequences instead of coddling this party until they throw you a little bone.

You've been doling out consequences since the 1992 election. Believe me, the GOP understands this; that's why they ignore you.

If there are actual consequences, they will move back into place.

Nope. You don't get it, sonny boy: the GOP has already figured out how to win elections without your vote. Now, if you want the GOP to do your bidding, you're going to have to spend ten-plus years of doing hard, thankless work with no rewards to show for it. Y'all have demonstrated zero loyalty since 1992; the GOP got sick and tired of waiting for you to grow up. You have no political capital left to threaten with.

You've priced your vote out of the market.

How does that explain Dreier's recent flip-flop on the border issue?

It doesn't. That's John and Ken practicing seagull politics.

He's term limited out of his job and is deperate to remain on the public payroll.

He hopes that people will forget his attempted sabotage of the 2003 race when he runs for this one and loses in 2006.
