I have now read about four attacks on GOP headquarters in Washington DC, Virginia, Wisconsin, and Florida. The one that most concerns me is the DC burglary during which they stole 3 computers of key campaign staff. What I haven't heard is WHAT IS BEING DONE ABOUT IT???
The DC robbery is definitely WATERGATE material, so why is nothing being reported? Is an investigation under way? Has anyone heard anything more about this?
Alex, what are, "Stories that will never make the World News Tonight."
A couple of Democratic headquarters have also been vandalized, one in TN and one in TX. It seems like our election process is being hurt by any such vandalism. Yard signs for both candidates are being stolen or vandalized.
This is just plain wrong. Yes, we don't like Democrats, and they don't like us much either. For either side to deliberately vandalize signs or other political stuff is wrong.
Heck, I'd protect my neighbor's Kerry/Edwards sign just like I'd protect my own yard signs. It's the principle of the thing, IMO.
school - read for later
Write to the Attorney General demaning a RICO investigation into whether these attacks have been coordinated.
Should be "DEMANDING"
Conservatives are the problem. The "we don't do those things" and "we're the party of ideas" attitude that's so prevalent among the group is obviously emboldening the little scumbags. We talk a good game.
I don't find it excessive at all. They play dirty and use the politics of fear and hate. Sounds like a certain Bavarian Corporal to me.
There have been numerous, recent articles that claim that the Berger investigation is far from closed.
Re: martial law, election canceled...
I fear if the Dems get in, that will actually happen in 2008. These people are dangerous, and we see that their followers are prone to violence. I seriously fear an erosion of rights if a kerry-edwards administration were to come to power. The left and the media are always decrying the Patriot Act, and any perceived losses of liberty now. Yet I fear they will say nothing when a Democrat president takes actions far worse than what we are seeing now.
Actually the burglary happened in washington state.
I think you give too much credit to the Dims. They can do anything they want because they control 80% of the mass media. This is the most powerful propaganda tool available. They will ignore any story that doesn't advance their agenda.
I suggest going to the GOP.com site, finding the closest area and offer your services whenever ya get some spare time.
That's what I'm doing.
Doesn't skerry have a history of his operatives burglarizing opponents campaign headquarters???
I meant to type, "Finding the closest GOP offices in your area."
C'mon, coffee! WORK FOR ME!
We The People of the United States of America call upon the Governors of all 50 states to station National Guard troops to protect all political party headquarters in each state's major metropolitan areas. For headquarters in smaller areas, and headquarters which are more limited facilities, we call upon the governors to station highway patrol, state police, or state troopers. We call upon the Mayor of the District of Columbia to coordinate with the applicable protective agencies as well. All parties on the ballot should receive the appropriate protection based on the size of the metro area they are in and the size of the facility. If warranted, similar measures should be put in place to protect the polling places on Election Day.
Orders to guardsmen and law enforcement officers to shoot-to-kill upon any mob attack should be issued.
Failure to take such actions should be considered gross incompetence.
In order to address the possibility that the recent attacks on headquarters of political parties are a diversion in advance of acts of terrorism or war, we also call upon the governors to activate their state militias and if need be to deputize selected citizens as special reserve state law enforcement officers. Where state militias and deputation statutes do not yet exist, we call upon the affected governors to sponsor such legislation as is needed in order to instate the applicable mechanisms.
In God We Trust.
In the Bellevue, Washington, incident, local police believe this was common breaking-and-entering and burglary and was not politically motivated. I have no idea. But the other incidents all seem to be politically motivated.
check out http://www.usatoday.com/tech/news/2004-10-01-gop-laptop-burglary_x.htm. The burglary actually happened in Washington State.
Yes, if this were happening to Dems Terry McAullife would be screaming and the MSM would be listening. I can just hear Dan Rather: "From around the nation, CBS news has learned of a series of coordinated attacks directed against headquarters of Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry. Responding to the attacks, which have included bullets fired through windows, acts of vandalism, defacing of signs, and intimidation of campaign workers, Democratic National Committee chairman Terry McAuliffe said, "This calls to mind the tactics of Hitler's brownshirts, and the responsibility for these attacks goes right to the top - George Bush and Dick Cheney." Bob Schieffer reports from Washington . . . "
