It's time to protest the Lefties again. Here's their itinerary for the month of October:
Friday Night Protests in October - 4:30pm-6:30pm.
Purpose: To oppose war and many of the Bush administrations foreign and domestic policies. Street protests are a way to get that message out to the public. We want everyone in Fresno to know there is an active peace movement in our community.
October 8 - northeast corner of Kings Canyon and Cedar
October 15 - northeast corner of Kings Canyon and Cedar
October 22 - Shaw and Blackstone
October 29 - northeast corner of Shaw and Cedar
We know that the fair is going on, and traffic is going to be heavy in the area of the fair, so parking will be at a premium. Make sure that you park legally. They will be on the grounds of University Medical Center, which is patrolled by Fresno County Security and CHCC Security. There's also a couple of Sheriff's units hanging around the hospital, and there will be a heavy PD presence for traffic control around the fairgrounds.
I'll be getting a feeling for the politics of the owner of the carwash on the southwest side to see if we might be able to park there. I would suggest that we use the southwest corner where the LJS is located.
The northeast corner of Shaw/Cedar is Fresno State, and if they're on state property, they can easily get booted off.
I wonder now that the the good people of Fresno know that they have an active "Peace Movement" in their community do they suddenly feel a need to bathe.
Maybe they should treat this problem like a boil and lance it now....
How can there be lefties in Fresno?
Seriously! This is a town settled by refugees from Russia - German refugees. The Tzar changed the rules. The citizens' of today grandparents or great grandparents were persecuted. Stalin killed those who stayed behind.
This is a town of Armenian refugees. They felt the swords of the Turks.
How can there be any lefties in this town. This town my grandparents helped build. Roeding Park, the garden and zoo...
Are there no strong voices from Cross Church or St. Paul's anymore, or others?
I am dismayed.
We're interested, but will have to see how things go the next week or so. I will let you know by the middle of next week whether or not we can be there. I'd sure like to be able to come since we won't be able to be there on the 29th.
Just my opinion, but history shows war is often a peace movement. In fact, it is often the last, or only hope for real peace.
I hope one of you Fresno FReepers beats him to that little task...
