Bush + Cheney 2004

The Catholics for Bush website is now live! Click here to access the Catholic webpage: www.GeorgeWBush.com/Catholics

As a Catholic Bush Volunteer, you know why the President has won the support of so many Catholic voters. Yet, there are still others who need to get the message. The new Catholics for Bush website is a tool for you to make sure our supporters turn out to vote and to convince undecided voters to cast their vote for the President.

On the webpage, you can read how the President's agenda supports issues important to Catholics and view a side by side comparison of President Bush and Senator Kerry on core moral and social justice issues. You can also register your friends, family and neighbors to vote, request an absentee ballot and find your polling location by following links posted on the webpage.

THREE Ways to Help President Bush Right Now:

1. REGISTER YOUR FRIENDS TO VOTE. Click here for information:
www.VoteforGeorgeWBush.com

2. VOTE EARLY. You may be able to cast your vote now via an absentee ballot. State laws allow absentee ballots to be cast if you cannot vote on Election Day. Please refer to
www.GeorgeWBush.com/VoteEarly  to determine whether you are eligible to cast an absentee ballot in your state. If you will not be able to vote on Election Day, and meet the criteria, I encourage you to take this chance and vote absentee.

3. VOLUNTEER FOR THE PRESIDENT AND OUR TEAM. Four years ago the President lost a commanding lead on the weekend before the election because the Democrats and their liberal allies orchestrated a massive get-out-the-vote operation; it nearly cost him the election.  Volunteer now for the Republican team's vital phone banking and door-to-door efforts. This week, Senator Rick Santorum and 37 other Catholic leaders delivered a message to Senator John Kerry about squaring his rhetoric with his actions.

It's clear that John Kerry wants Catholic voters to think that his faith informs his policy positions.  Yet on a very core issue--supporting the culture of life--John Kerry actually sets aside his own reasoning and his faith, because it is a statement of the Catholic Church.  John Kerry says life begins at conception, yet his own record in the Senate of voting against the partial birth abortion ban and Laci and Connor's Law contradicts his reasoning as well as the position of the Catholic Church--that life is sacred, and those most vulnerable require protection.

The open letter from Catholics helps to lift the fog on Kerry's doublespeak and set the record straight.

An Open Letter From Fellow Catholics To John Kerry On Faith & Reason

Dear Senator John Kerry:

America is a place of hope and opportunity for many reasons. Chief among them we are a people of great faith and that is what keeps us strong.

But while Americans have always been a religious people, our faith is tied to reason. We choose goodness and truth not only because faith tells us to, but also because doing otherwise would be inherently wrong.

Disagreements will always exist in the civic arena. How high the minimum wage? How to best provide educational opportunity for all?  The appropriate level of taxation?  These are decisions that we work out in the political process and upon which the Church has no specialized knowledge.  As Catholics and as Americans we are called to discern the truth in public policy and to determine which candidate best addresses our concerns.

There are core truths, however, around which we as Catholics must rally. Not just because it is the word of the Church, but also because of reason. This is where we stand on opposition to abortion.

Innocent human life must always be protected. Senator John Kerry, you have said that “life begins at conception,” but you have persistently supported abortion and oppose all sensible restrictions on the practice.

You have voted six times against banning the barbaric practice of partial birth abortion.  You voted to spend taxpayers’ dollars to fund abortion at least 25 times.

You opposed Laci and Conner’s Law, which protects pregnant women and their unborn babies from violent crimes.

In the most recent debate Senator Kerry, you said, "everything you do in public life has to be guided by your faith” and that “everything is a gift from the Almighty.” But apparently, when it comes to the issue of the right to life, you follow neither your own faith nor your own reason.

Senator Kerry, your stand contradicts both your faith and reason.

As Americans and Catholics, both faith and reason lead us to President George W. Bush as the choice for life, compassion and justice for all.  For that reason, we are urging fellow Catholics to join us in voting for the President on November 2.

I'd rather be tallied on election day - harder to defraud those voters with poll watchers.

That's great. Let's not forget about www.terrisfight.org. Terri's a Catholic and she and the Pope don't want her to die. Governor Bush was turned down today by the Florida Supreme Court. Is President Bush going to stand idly by while Terri is starved to death? Is John Ashcroft going to stand idly by while a young woman in good health is denied sustenance and MURDERED?

Governor Bush was turned down today by the Florida Supreme Court. >>

Yea, I heard the sad news on the radio today and now it's up to the SCOTUS, if they, Terri's parents, choose that route. Let's hope and pray that everything works out for Terri. Both the 5th and 14th amendments guarantee us a right to life and equal protection under the law so the law should be on Terri's side.

President Bush, John Ascroft and Speaker Hastert found Jesus, so they say, let's see what they can do "actions speak louder than words." This woman should not be forced into death by starvation, it's barbaric!

Scott Hahn used to be a Presbyterian , the Pres.. are supporting Arafat, would they also say ok to suicide bombers here? let me tell everyone, the Pope is not the antichrist. Once you get that straight maybe you can realize that freedom, our freedom is essential for anyone else's. Why get bent out of shape with destroying crosses in our buildings etc. , isn't the aclu a little bent out of shape? do I sound frazzled, thanks to the goofball Kerry and his cronies like Barbara Boxer, I am FRAZZLED! Just a wee bit. Thank God for Scott Hahn!! Long live freedom and not any ism!

Governor Bush made a statement on local radio this morning that he will continue on to get his day in court re: Terri's Law and he is going to do all he can to protect Terri. He stated that death row inmates get 15 years of appeals. Go, Jeb. It's so important to call Jeb every time someone rules against him so he doesn't lose his will to keep fighting for Terri who as Jeb refers to her an innocent.

It's clear that Jeb is logging our phone calls and came straight to the market where Terri resides to state his position. Everyone here is so afraid that Jeb is going to go wobbly on us. He hasn't yet but if it isn't in the courts, he won't use his executive powers. That's unfortunate.

God has his own executive powers and I'll be praying that he keeps using them to protect one of his children, Terri Schindler Schiavo until she's out of harm's way and can finally enjoy her life and liberty.

SEe Terri's videos at www.terrisfight.org and you can email www.advocacycenter.org with your complaints and comments.
