Folks have been posting about that. Thanks for the confirmation.

Also, yesterday there was something glitchy about the spellcheck feature.

Thanks for all you do.

This has been posted several times today. Perhaps the use of the "search" feature would eliminate duplicate posts.

And I thought it was me....

Forbidden... What'd I do...??

Anyway, I'm sure this is Bush's fault, and will be the lead story above the fold.

Take your time Jim, you have done a great job with the increased traffic of late.

Regards,
Joe

Woops. I have posted two articles and used search and didnt find them previously posted. I'll check again when the search works and if they are duplicates I'll ask them to be deleted.

Hey, just a suggestion (maybe not original but I have not read it elsewhere):

Often duplicate articles are posted because titles were changed and searching did not locate a duplicate article.

Although it would be very processor intensive to maintain search indexes of every thread (due to their constantly changing nature), it would not be very processor intensive to index ONLY the article TEXT (which is static) in addition to the TITLE. If this was in place posters could search for unique lines of text from early in an article and thus find original posts even when the title has been changed.

Just a little item that you can implement as soon as you get done with the other 20,000 items on your "to do" list, but it might paradoxically reduce server load...

;-)
