Cheney would have needed another hour and a half to counter all the lies that Edwards threw out. What he did chose to counter was very persuasive.
Cheney crushed Edwards. The spinners are going nuts right now!

oops ...sorry about the typos lol
Another point. I can't believe Brit and the gang tonight -- what were they smoking? Cici I can believe but the rest were not viewing the same debate as I saw

From
this transcript of an interview with Elizabeth Edwards ....
It sounds like politics. Have you ever met Bush?
I met him once at the National Prayer Breakfast a few years ago. He didn't seem particularly interested in me, but he had many other people to talk to.
Have you ever met the Cheneys?
I sat next to Lynne at the breakfast. I don't think it's possible to find very many women with whom I disagree on so many subjects as I do with Lynne Cheney

"That is a great question. CeCe Connoly is an empthy dress. Actually (and it somewhat pains me to say this as a Fox News regular who respects Brit Hume) Fox News has some of the most lame commentators on TV. Mort and Fred are a couple of stumbling, muttering pukes. Bill Kristol is Tucker Carlson in a necktie. CeCe is a moron. Juan is an idiot...
... and that's the best network in cable news!"
I'm so glad it's not just me!!! Everytime there is a major political event, I just cannot watch the Fox panel. I can't stand Kristol either, plus the whole panel just has no chemistry or enthusiasm. I like them during Brit's show, but that's all.
I wish Fox would consider some replacements, especially for Kristol. And as for my choice on post-event commentary, I watch MSNBC simply because of the energy level.

>> I heard perhaps a CBS poll showed Edwards way ahead, but am not sure.
What the.... Foxnews' poll shows Edwards significantly ahead... Huh? Something's VERY fishy there.... There's no doubt whatsoever that the VEEP buried the Breck Girl tonight, and anyone who saw it differently is delusional, demented or... oh, wait. That describes all the RATS, doesn't it?

Does anyone know how many times John Edwards used the phrase " The Truth is " ?

but who would report it. maybe Fox, maybe not. certainly not MSM.

I'd like to know how many times Edwards said "We have a plan...As many times as Bush said, "we're working hard."

We did see once (& hear twice) Edwards ripping out a sheet from his legal pad - an obvious cheap attempt at distraction and a transparent sign of his contempt for the VP.
This was billed as 'Shrek vs. Breck.' That was half true - Edwards didn't even have a good hair day, let alone a debate that would inspire any thinking person to put him anywhere near the helm of our ship of state!

What did he say, exactly? I put the kids to bed when Cheney was talking about states' rights and missed Edward's response.

One thing I wish he would have done was debunk the urban legend that Bush "let" bin Landen go at Tora Bora and that we "outsourced" the job. The format did not lend itself to addressing all of the lies, misstatement of facts, charges etc made by Edwards. It just wasn't possible given the laundry list of items spouted by Edwards. Cheney should have asked for more time, but the one time he did, it was turned down.

You may have been frustrated...but personally, I want to thank you for slapping on the bandaids, unkinking the kinks, and unraveling the "ravels"(?). It might have been dreadfully slow...but it didn't crash! And for that.....kudos!

Yes, and does anyone have the line..."During the time of this debate, 40 million people will have slipped into poverty..." Did I hear that right?
DH looked at me, and said, "Well, at that rate, I'll be unemployed tomorrow."

Earlier today after I said Cheney would take Edwards I was pretty much told I was crazy because "Edwards is a trial lawyer!".
I'll try not to gloat.

Cheney did SO much better than Bush, was SO in command of much of this "debate," that it will be spun that this shows what a pathetic President W is. Why, his VP is better and stronger and smarter than he. That and, "We saw once again who the REAL President is."
Quite frankly, I think the president despised being on the same stage as, well, what ever that was next to him and it showed, I mean, what would you do in Bush's place, arguing with a Nth. Vietnamese war hero.

There is the old saying "Never take a knife to a gunfight".
Tonight I saw the following post on an earlier thread "Edwards took spitballs to a bombing run!"
That said it all.
