Hang on,
The obligatory:
Bush' fault!
Ah yes Bush's fault...it starts deep under Mt. St. Helens and stretches to far west Texas, co-mingles with the balcones fault and winds it's way all the way to DC where it is known as the foggy bottom fault.
:^)
the 10:39 pic looks like it over.

MOUNT ST. HELENS NATIONAL MONUMENT, Wash. -- Another small steam eruption is under way at Mount St. Helens.
A small billowing cloud is visible over the rim of the volcano's crater. It's moving slowly to the northeast. The eruption is confirmed by US Geological Survey scientist Willie Scott.
The clouds appears to be mostly white. Scott says whatever ash is in it will probably fall in the crater and on the mountain itself.
There was another small steam burst at 10:40 last night and earthquakes indicate the volcano is active.
US Geological Survey scientist Tom Pierson says the lava dome in the crater of Mount Saint Helens has lifted 50-to-100 feet.
Scientists are uncertain how explosive Mount Saint Helens may be. They say it could throw up a column of ash or it could ooze lava into the crater.
The alert remains at the highest level because scientists say an eruption is imminent.
The Federal Aviation Administration has restricted aircraft over the volcano to a height of 13,000 feet. That will keep small planes out of the way of an eruption. It does not restrict commercial airline routes.
Scientists do not expect much impact outside the remote, unpopulated area around the volcano in southwest Washington.
KPTV.com will have more details as soon as they are available.
Love those swarms ~ Bump!
Synchronisity, ya know..
Red
hehe
As someone stated earlier it looks like something Mothra or Godzilla would crawl out of.
I wonder if the spectators could hear it.
Good one!
I guess that was the Grand Finale, for now.
The volcano is in the middle of an eruption and they report "earthquakes indicate the volcano is active." Who writes this stuff???
Thanks for the ping.
The last two have been timely around noonish.
Thank God the winds are light.
A huge cloud formation from the eruption taking the shape of the Holy Mother or Christ would really be cool!
Good ole Buffet!
"Lava come down soft and hot,
Ya better lava me now or lava me not."
LOL!!!!!!
Val, do you still have family in the area?
Ah yes....... the good old days! :-)
I thought I read that somewhere and have it in my mind that the more this spitting goes on, the more likely there could be a bigger one.
Hmmm, Mine isn't that slow...
Yes, but there is a whole lot less mountain to withstand tremendous pressures, so I don't think there is any way there is going to be anything to even remotely approach the May 18, 1980 eruption. We got absolutely no ash from the 5/18/80 eruption; but some from one of the later and much, much smaller eruptions.
I have this mental image of the lava plug being launched like a cannon ball hundreds of miles down range...
