XXXXX DRUDGE REPORT XXXXX SUN OCT 03, 2004 14:05:38 ET XXXXX
DEBATE MYSTERY: DID KERRY HAVE CHEAT SHEET?
Section 5, pages 4-5 of the binding "Memorandum of Understanding" that was negotiated and agreed upon by both political campaigns states:
"No props, notes, charts, diagrams, or other writings or other tangible things may be brought into the debate by either candidate.... Each candidate must submit to the staff of the Commission prior to the debate all such paper and any pens or pencils with which a candidate may wish to take notes during the debate, and the staff or commission will place such paper, pens and pencils on the podium..."
So what did Dem presidential contender John Kerry take out of his jacket as he approached the stage [with his back to the auditorium's audience]?
What did Kerry place on the podium?
Video replays of the Kerry maneuver played all weekend long on the internet.
[A tight zoom of the Boston.Com feed shows Kerry pulling a mysterious "card" from his jacket. 14 seconds into video, after commerical]
A top Kerry campaign source explained to the DRUDGE REPORT late Sunday how Bush supporters were once again trying to distract.
"Kerry did not cheat," said the Kerry insider. "This is more lies from Republicans, who are hoping for a quick change of subject away from the president's performance, and the new polls."

IMHO I think Kerry had the questions in advance and had the answers on the 3x5's.
That is why is appeared to be sooooo smooth.
DENY, DENY, DENY!!!
I hope someone at the townhall 2nd debate asks Kerry "Senator just what did you take out of your pocket at the first debate".
Could THIS be why W seemed 'distracted?" Did he KNOW that Effin was cheating, but decided to say nothing?
That is a great idea, but with this posted at the top of the page in very large letters and it is being covered on Fox, i would bet they will hear about it on Rush tomorrow.
Lets all ping Rush
That would be THE biggest political scandel of ALL TIME..I mean, you sure the Dems were willing to go THAT far , ruin the party for life ? Look , I wish it was all true but it's just too unreal for me to think it's true.
That was mentioned earlier that maybe Bush saw him take out the cards and then when the questions went the way they did, Bush figured out that Kerry had the questions and the answers.
OK, I've been scanning your posts for the past few days. I'd say we've got a troll loose on the premises.
I wonder if there are any HDTV shots with better resolution?
It looks like a few cards. If it was a hanky he wouldn't have spent the time to carefully look at it after he pulled it out. F'n has some 'splain'n to do
Bump (just to see if your hunch is right)
and that's why Bush did so poorly , because he saw Kerry with the questions and he gave up after that? Come on man, be real ..No one is as sick over what happened that nigh tas I am but I'm not going to go overboard clutching at straws to find an answer. Ya cant prove anything at this point..so ..whats the point?
Who would "risk total ruin" by using fabricated memoes from a dead man about a thirty-five year old charge on a national tv show, 60Mins II, to try to bring down a sitting president? Why, his colleagues like Jennings and Brokaw would recoil from such low-rent abuse of the first amendment; they would cry out for his resignation to prevent the skirts of their journalistic integrity from being besmirched.
It is to laugh.
Is Charlie Gibson hosting the Townhall format? If so, does anyone know how the people for the townhall are chosen and what the mix will be???
What if it weren't just a piece of paper, like maybe small stack of 3x5 cards, with the questions and the answers?
Anything NASA could assist us with? Understand we have satellites that can read a postage stamp ... </sarcasm/joke> Seriously, there MUST be a way to get a super tight, clear closeup and see what it was.
I said Thursday night that I thought the talking points/questions were leaked to Kerry.
I hope this is true and Kerry is shown as the unqualified jerk he really is.
He had the debate questions already in his pocket.
Remember the wink at the end of the debate?
