XXXXX DRUDGE REPORT XXXXX SUN OCT 03, 2004 14:05:38 ET XXXXX

DEBATE MYSTERY: DID KERRY HAVE CHEAT SHEET?

Section 5, pages 4-5 of the binding "Memorandum of Understanding" that was negotiated and agreed upon by both political campaigns states:

"No props, notes, charts, diagrams, or other writings or other tangible things may be brought into the debate by either candidate.... Each candidate must submit to the staff of the Commission prior to the debate all such paper and any pens or pencils with which a candidate may wish to take notes during the debate, and the staff or commission will place such paper, pens and pencils on the podium..."

So what did Dem presidential contender John Kerry take out of his jacket as he approached the stage [with his back to the auditorium's audience]?

What did Kerry place on the podium?

Video replays of the Kerry maneuver played all weekend long on the internet.

[A tight zoom of the Boston.Com feed shows Kerry pulling a mysterious "card" from his jacket. 14 seconds into video, after commerical]

A top Kerry campaign source explained to the DRUDGE REPORT late Sunday how Bush supporters were once again trying to distract.

"Kerry did not cheat," said the Kerry insider. "This is more lies from Republicans, who are hoping for a quick change of subject away from the president's performance, and the new polls."

Can you describe to me what happened at the end? Did Lehrer go on stage? Did he shake hands with President Bush first? Did Lehrer chat with Kerry or just shake his hand, smile and wink? thanks for help. b.

I can see drool coming from his mouth, and it looks like a hundred dollar bill to pass to Lehrer.

Nor is it worth the bandwidth to speculate about it.

Perhaps, but by your logic, it wasn't worth the bandwidth to speculate about the forged memos either. It was the job of CBS news to validate them. What a fine job they did.

It's only an issue if you think Bush lost the debate - but the person who posted this speculation says Bush won the debate - so the notes according to the poster's logic - did not help Kerry. Unless this is designed to offset a Bush flop of a showing this issue is of no use to us.

I quit watching because I felt I was being scammed. Like watching Chris Matthews "question" a Joe Wilson or Sandy Berger....right, right, right, right.

Can you give me your impressions of the end of the program and what happened between Kerry and Lehrer that was different from what happened between President Bush and Lehrer.

How can attacks on Kerry's integrity be a distraction? It That is the basic question of this election. As for legs, several of "the legs" are already there. (Just fill in his lies already exposed.) Add his Dem adviser Sandy Burglar's shoplifting of secret documents and his Liberal MSM Rathergate scandal AND just watch it run.

It would be one thing if the Bush team had to divert their efforts to make this attack - but the Internet (Freepers, bloggers, Drudge...) Talk-radio & FoxNews can handle it just fine. And if you doubt this just recall the Swiftvets & Rathergate.

My advise is even given that your opinion is well intended, don't stand too long with the MSM as they try to spike this story - THEY WILL BE STEAMROLLED AGAIN!

"LOL True or not, this WON'T look good on a resume "

From past performances, NOT, does not have a meaning, in True or Not.

"I think it is a distraction and I think it's petty.
If it had been brought up the day after the debates, that would be different. Since it is four days after the debate, it makes us look like we are reaching. It isn't timely, and the fact that there are two more debates this week alone, it doesn't have legs.
IMHO."

Mabel, honey, I believe its YOU that's reaching. Your boy cheated and that dog just don't hunt :D

"This cannot be ignored!"

Yeah but it might be ignored

I only Pray that Rush, Hannity, Schnitt, Beck and anyone else with honest bones in their bodies makes this a month long subject. If Rush doesn't bring this up first thing tomorrow I will be very surprised. This IS a bid deal. And it should be mainstreamed. Somehow skerry should be disqualified from being ANYTHING...much less President. You get expelled from school for cheating. He's a slimy lying Demon.
