XXXXX DRUDGE REPORT XXXXX SUN OCT 03, 2004 14:05:38 ET XXXXX
DEBATE MYSTERY: DID KERRY HAVE CHEAT SHEET?
Section 5, pages 4-5 of the binding "Memorandum of Understanding" that was negotiated and agreed upon by both political campaigns states:
"No props, notes, charts, diagrams, or other writings or other tangible things may be brought into the debate by either candidate.... Each candidate must submit to the staff of the Commission prior to the debate all such paper and any pens or pencils with which a candidate may wish to take notes during the debate, and the staff or commission will place such paper, pens and pencils on the podium..."
So what did Dem presidential contender John Kerry take out of his jacket as he approached the stage [with his back to the auditorium's audience]?
What did Kerry place on the podium?
Video replays of the Kerry maneuver played all weekend long on the internet.
[A tight zoom of the Boston.Com feed shows Kerry pulling a mysterious "card" from his jacket. 14 seconds into video, after commerical]
A top Kerry campaign source explained to the DRUDGE REPORT late Sunday how Bush supporters were once again trying to distract.
"Kerry did not cheat," said the Kerry insider. "This is more lies from Republicans, who are hoping for a quick change of subject away from the president's performance, and the new polls."
Developing...
At the very least, cBS should not be hosting a debate.
I don't care how good a debater you are, Kerry seemed to have the answer to Jim's questions ready before Jim was even finished explaining what the question was. It was almost like his response was memorized, knowing full well what the question was going to be in advance.
kerry should have been finished it 1972........he is a liar and a cheat........and he dares accuse our president of this in his latest ads.
Then don't worry about it.
"Yes, there were to be no notes or anything at all. If you wanted to take notes during the debate paper and pen would be provided, but you were not allowed to even place your own pen on the podium, they would do it for you."
That's what I said.
There is nothing to be proven here. Kerry pulled an object, be it paper, cards, handkerchief from his pocket. None of those things were allowed. This was done in full view of the camera (that he apparently didn't know about). It will now be a spin war. No matter what the Kerry camp says, the suspicion about what he had will remain.
Yeah but it might be ignored. All the pundits have offered up their pithy morsels about the debate aftermath. They have embedded their "pearls of wisdom" in the psyche of the huddled masses. Just why would they deign to bother with to tamper with the collective wisdom now? After all, THEY never noticed it. And two swats on the MSM's collective butt coming so close together just won't do.
Nor is it worth the bandwidth to speculate about it.
Well, well, well, what have we here?
Guess sKerry didn't realize there was a camera set up to catch him in the act, huh?
Thanks for posting the link to the video clip, stockpirate!
And thanks for the ping, Tonk!
Excellent ammo and I've e-mailed the link out en masse.
The Dimz just don't learn, do they, that they're under the microscope?
Yes you did. But check back, you stated, "but not positive though."
"Kerry cheated? Well I wish Bush cheated as well or was keen enough to catch it and call Kerry out as a cheater. It is not our job to expose Kerry during the debate - it was Bush's."
Bush has character. He's not going to cheat. He's not going to call Kerry out as a cheater.
There was an earlier link discussing the tape, I sent the info to Drudge and when he posted I posted this thread.
Here is the early link.

I am not worried. Bush did what he needed to do and the outcome was just how it was suppoesed to be.
Little Green men, I think.
Then why post speculation if you are not worried about it?
I just ran across this really awful pic of Kerry and had to post it.
