XXXXX DRUDGE REPORT XXXXX SUN OCT 03, 2004 14:05:38 ET XXXXX
DEBATE MYSTERY: DID KERRY HAVE CHEAT SHEET?
Section 5, pages 4-5 of the binding "Memorandum of Understanding" that was negotiated and agreed upon by both political campaigns states:
"No props, notes, charts, diagrams, or other writings or other tangible things may be brought into the debate by either candidate.... Each candidate must submit to the staff of the Commission prior to the debate all such paper and any pens or pencils with which a candidate may wish to take notes during the debate, and the staff or commission will place such paper, pens and pencils on the podium..."
So what did Dem presidential contender John Kerry take out of his jacket as he approached the stage [with his back to the auditorium's audience]?
What did Kerry place on the podium?
Video replays of the Kerry maneuver played all weekend long on the internet.
[A tight zoom of the Boston.Com feed shows Kerry pulling a mysterious "card" from his jacket. 14 seconds into video, after commerical]
A top Kerry campaign source explained to the DRUDGE REPORT late Sunday how Bush supporters were once again trying to distract.
"Kerry did not cheat," said the Kerry insider. "This is more lies from Republicans, who are hoping for a quick change of subject away from the president's performance, and the new polls."
Developing...
Look at this pick that Crazieman posted..... Kerry is not only a liar he is a cheater...... not cool.
Bush won on Substance. Kerry won on Style.
If Cheating manufactured that Style, Kerry's loses the game call on the debate. LOL
The Prez should definitely stick to what Kerry said, and we should back him up.
Meanwhile Talk radio, Drudge, hopefully Fox and all of us will nail Kerry on his cheating.
Since FOX NEWS was in charge of the cameras I wonder if they have anything on tape that could reveal more evidence on this. There needs to be something more obvious than what it already out there otherwise the MSM isn't gonna buy it. Now if there was even a scintilla of evidence that Bush did this you would have seen "Breaking News!!!!" all day today and for the next thrity days that's all you would hear about. Anyway, lets write to FOX and see if they have any more tape that will show more clearly what Kerry is taking out of his pocket.
Wow! Just saw the Globe video, full screen (right click, click on Zoom, and then click on full screen). It's definitely a piece of paper that he slips out of his pocket and onto the lectern - very smoothly and very quickly.
Busted.
Thanks. I haven't been able to view the Globe connection. It is driving me crazy. Thanks for the picture.
"I agree. I looked at the video. Looks like a watch to me."
Freeze it and look at the stills. That ain't no watch or pen. It's a square, slightly larger than palm-size object. Definitely square.

I noticed that too. I was thinking he must have been just scribbling for show.
That's because Kerry was feverishly scribbling crap down so that he didn't have to look at the camera. He sh*t his pants because Bush was on a roll in making him look bad.
OOOPS! Sorry for the double post!
And while not looking at what he was "writing"
Dear Crazieman,
Thanks for this link.
I don't have a lot of sophisticated graphics and video tools, but my basic imaging software allowed me to blow up each frame to 400% or so. It really, REALLY doesn't look like a pen.
It is more consistent with a small pad of paper, or maybe a small paper.
I still wouldn't swear to it, but...
sitetest
Uh-uh. The Senator is busted by FOX footage!
Did anyone notice at the beginning of the debate, when Bush was speaking, Kerry was making like he was writing things down - but he was doing this with what I saw at the time as strange exaggerated arm movements
He also could have been pretending to write something down while actually reading the questions he had in front of him.
YOU are correct. I'm trying to make that point too, and I'm astonished that there are people who disagree. It's so obvious to me.
"I said I thought it was a watch. He probably wanted to keep track of the time elapsed so he wouldn't get caught looking at his watch like G. Bush Sr. did against clinton."
Rules said they were not allowed to bring ANY tangibles to the podium.
Best yet!
I sent them a love letter, but forgot to give them your name, just signed my own.
