I keep telling people there is a paradigm shift and national referendum on Vietnam. The politics of Vietnam and the liberals ideology is in severe decline. Rejection of the MSM liberal message has only been accelerated by Rathergate. Kerry is their heir apparent, and they may be heartened by the debate. They can not win. They will not win. No one wants Vietnam and the years of self doubt and self hate all over again.

Truly enjoyed this piece about the newspaper and the town of Crawford, TX! Thank you!
To me, the future will be in small towns, not in big cities. There is no place like the small towns that have the spirit of America! I live in the city but I don't feel connected with the area that I am in. Hope to move to a small town in a few years.

That is one of the nicest things I've ever read. The loyalty of a small town to one of its residents is a rare treasure. The Clifton man betrayed that. What a shame.

If I do say so myself as editor of my little po-dunk college newspaper...you write very well.
You would be a woderful columnist.

To keep an eye out on what some of the liberal dirt bags (that have worked their way into our media outlets in our fine state) are up to, check out:

Thank you. Hope this doesn't adversely effect your employment situation.

Why not do a town Blog? Have 20 of the 900 contribute. Print the thing for those with no net skills. Have local adds on the thing. To hell with the local paper. Let them have new media!!!
To: rwfromkansas
wonderful.
Ugh....need to spell-check posts.

I read that Crawford's mayor isn't supporting the president either. Is this true? If so do you know the story behind that?
To: Richard Kimball
In small town Texas, most of the over 65 crowd are Democrats, but they don't really realize what the Democrats have become. Yep and that is why most Democrats running for reelection are running as "conservative" Democrats. The massive number of Chet Edwards commercials tell everyone how he is conservative, pro-military, and "stands with President Bush". Because of the senior vote, he'll probably win.

From my former Texan brother in law, the gesture is a representation of a Texas Longhorn's horns.

As a Copperas Cove gard, I grew up close to Crawford. The reality is that this is a great story and truly reflects Texas.
Don't believe the 'Texas is newly conservative stuff'. Texas has always been conservative but the nutcases took over the Democratic party at the national level. It certainly isn't Bob Bullock's party, Sam Rayburn's, Lloyd Bentson's, JJ Pickle's, or the party that represented Texas for so long.
Small town Texas is perfect. Too bad it got caught up in a nutcase who felt he could influence national politics by abandoning his constituency.
BTW, go Bulldog's!!

Oh, I'm politically active, and I've made my views known around the paper. There are certain areas, though, where I don't think politics are appropriate. I don't talk politics to my class, except to advise them to read the Constitution, register and vote. If they want to talk politics after class, cool I'll do it.
For me, though, the paper is about the local stuff, and I was disappointed that they sprung this during homecoming week. It kind of kills the fun when the adults are squabbling.

"No one wants Vietnam and the years of self doubt and self hate all over again."
These liberals will never stop. The "Vietnam syndrome" is not just about the war it is a state of mind and JFKerry using that state of mind is no different than those "Moolah's" calling their followers.
JFKerry is calling to his fellow travelers and seeking new recruits from a generation that has no clue what it was like to live through the 60's & 70's. All those born after 1970 know about this era is what is shown on the tv, movies and some warped paragraph taught by public education's socialistic history books.
To: Richard Kimball
On a side note:
I believe very strongly that there has to be somebody who would be willing to help form a town paper by the townspeople, not outsiders.
Tal to people and see what they think. I attend a college in which the local paper of the town of 2,000 is a weekly with a very small staff, but it is run by local people. It seems to me that even though it is much smaller, it could be done in Crawford, too....surely someone would invest.

"Vietnam syndrome"
The Reagan babies dont buy the liberal crapola. The country is shifting. That is my point.

You are a teacher, too? Wow....you sound like me. I am pursuing a teaching degree for history, but I have a love of journalism as well.
