Jailed West Bank senior Fatah leader Marwan Barghouti said in a rare prison interview that Israel's plan for disengagement is "a victory for the Intifada."
Speaking to the London-based pan-Arab newspaper Al-Hayat, Barghouti stated that Israeli pullout from the Gaza Strip is, in his words, "the first step of the collapse of an occupation which is on its way to the trash heap of history."
Prison services are looking into how Barghouti managed to hold the interview, although assumptions are that he made the statements via his lawyers.
In May of this year, Barghouti was convicted of involvement in four terrorist attacks which claimed the lives of five civilians, more than two years after his arrest by an elite IDF unit in Ramallah.
Ping.
He's right that it's a victory (IMO), and I'm sure the point will also be made that this is proof that terrorist attacks are effective.
I think the Israeli's judge these issues pretty well.
Yes, I'm sure that's what it's called now. Thing is, it will trigger different rules of engagement. One can respond to attacks from a foreign country with the full force of your military, per international law.
Why is this POS living it up at Israeli taxpayer expense, eating 3 squares a day (even while his felow inmates were "hunger striking") and getting all this media attention?
Either re-open Eichman's execution chamber and hang the SOB, or turn him loose and then drop a hellfire on his motorcade.
It's not a victory. They are in deep trouble.
I prefer the missile - airstrikes are cheaper and faster than lawyers, albeit the latter inflict much greater suffering.
That accessory available for a Ford Bronco? :-)
I think all the palesites are florid psychotics..
