It's obvious the media is going all out to destroy Bush. They will lie and slander and don't care if they get caught, as in this memo forgery-which they knew many people they contacted said they were fake and Killian's family said they were fake, but they went ahead anyway. There is calculation through most of the media-CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, the major liberal papers, entertainment to deliberately attack Republicans. We've got a propaganda war going on with these people stopping at nothing. I am of the belief war needs to be declared on these organizations. They need to be rightly labelled Demonrat whores. They need to be confronted, sued for libel.

Rather has become nothing more than a pathetic old man, desperately trying to relive better times with one last "great story". How sad...

"Memogate: Why Did Dan Rather Do It?"

After all my research for a full 8 seconds I came up with:

To persuade people to vote for Kerry!

Starting with Edward R. Murrow, continuing through Walter Cronkike and then Dan Rather, the Tifnany network had always succeeded in destroying their political enemies.

Murrow defended Alger Hiss the communist spy, and got his accuser Joe McCarthy destroyed.

Walter Cronkite with his able assistant Dan Rather destroyed Richard Nixon..

It was assumed that Daniel Rather would defeat George W. Bush.

Rather has to face something this time that he and his predecessors never faced.. internet sites like FR, Talk Radio and the FNC.

Rather tried fighting todays war with yesterdays weapons. He destroyed himself with his own weapon. they had never been caught.

.....Memogate: Why Did Dan Rather Do It?.......

Because he feels duty bound to do everything with his power as an oncamera personality to defeat George W Bush.

There is no substitute for victory. All measures legal and illegal, ethical and un ethical must be taken to win.

In 2000 he waited till too late and his boy algore lost.

Now, it seems pretty obvious why he did it, doesn't it?

Because he could.

Why did Rather do it?

Go to any one of your local institutions of higher learning and sit in on a class on journalistic integrity and you'll soon find out.

It's called "activist journalism", and it's the poison that has infiltrated all of the mainstream media since the 60's (and, consequently, made a website like this one absolutely necessary for anyone who wants to get their news undiluted by socialism and anti-Americanism). In fact, Rather (not) had a large hand in this himself 35-40 years ago.

One of the all time great moments in TV history:

And then there was the Black Eye at Black Rock of the Bush interview. In 1988, media guru Roger Ailes suckered Rather into conducting a live interview with Vice President George Bush, then the Republican presidential candidate. Journalists don't like to conduct live interviews, because they then lose the power of the final cut. Being able to cut a story means being able to shape it. Instead, Ailes and Bush did the shaping, with Bush, in a politician's fantasy come true, going on the offensive, attacking Rather.
