Kerry Lied in Debate
gop.com ^ | 9-30-04 | GOP.COM

KERRY CLAIMS HE'S "NEVER, EVER" USED WORD "LYING" IN REFERENCE TO PRESIDENT BUSH ON IRAQ.

JIM LEHRER: "New question, Senator Kerry. Two minutes. You've repeatedly accused President Bush, not here tonight but elsewhere before, of not telling the truth about Iraq. Essentially, of lying to the American people about Iraq. Give us some examples of what you consider to be his not telling the truth."
SEN. KERRY: "Well, I've never, ever used the harshest word as you just did." (Sen. John Kerry, First Presidential Debate, Miami, FL, 9/30/04)

BUT IN DECEMBER 2003, KERRY TOLD NEW HAMPSHIRE EDITORIAL BOARD BUSH "LIED" ABOUT REASON FOR GOING TO WAR IN IRAQ. "Kerry also told a New Hampshire newspaper editorial board Friday that Bush had 'lied' about his reasons for going to war in Iraq, a word Kerry has been reluctant to use publicly for months. Yesterday he said he did not plan to use the word again." (Patrick Healy, "Kerry Camp Lowers N.H. Expectations Behind In Polls, Senator Now Seeks Spot In 'Top Two,'" The Boston Globe, 12/8/03)

AND IN SEPTEMBER 2003, KERRY SAID BUSH ADMINISTRATION "LIED" AND "MISLED." "This administration has lied to us. They have misled us. And they have broken their promises to us. The president promised to the people and the Congress that he would build an international coalition, respect the United Nations' process and only go to war as a last resort. I will tell you that from my war fighting experience, I believe there is a test for a president as to how you go to war. And that test is whether or not you can look in the eyes of parents and say to them, 'I did everything possible to avoid the loss of your son and daughter, but we had no other choice in order to protect the security of our nation,' and I know this president fails that test in Iraq." (Sen. John Kerry, Campaign Event, Claremont, NH, 9/20/03)

Kerry cannot be trusted on anything. Telling lies is no problem for him....He's like Dan Rather...the lie is not the point...getting Bush out is.....These radical leftist liberals are very dangerous...they cannot be pinned down on anything....They were all full of crap from day one simply because they won't tell a truth if it makes them look bad.

SEN. KERRY: "Well, I've never, ever used the harshest word as you just did."

It was at that exact moment that I told my 10 year-old son how he can know that John Kerry is lying.

And this is news? Isn't lying part of being a Democrat? Tell me you're not surprised!

If a person only tells the truth, that person cannot be a Demon Rat.

There's something postmodern and amusing about him getting caught lying about lying.

Just stune your beeber to Global Test mode and enjoy.

I guess it depends what the meaning of 'lying' is!

I think Bush could have done better, BUT HE STILL WON and gives Bush a lot of "lines" from Kerry to use against Kerry.

GO TO HUGHHEWITT.COM for a very good analysis of the debates and the "lines" to use against Kerry.

Did anybody pick-up that Kerry wants to drastically increase our standing army and deploy to Africa, etc? Sounds like he wants a draft.

KERRY: What I think troubles a lot of people in our country is that the president has just sort of described one kind of mistake. But what he has said is that, even knowing there were no weapons of mass destruction, even knowing there was no imminent threat, even knowing there was no connection with Al Qaeda, he would still have done everything the same way. Those are his words.

Now, I would not. So what I'm trying to do is just talk the truth to the American people and to the world. The truth is what good policy is based on. It's what leadership is based on.

[and later...]

KERRY: I have no intention of wilting. I've never wilted in my life. And I've never wavered in my life.

I know exactly what we need to do in Iraq, and my position has been consistent: Saddam Hussein is a threat. He needed to be disarmed. We needed to go to the U.N. The president needed the authority to use force in order to be able to get him to do something, because he never did it without the threat of force.

But we didn't need to rush to war without a plan to win the peace.

"Bush is not an attacker"

No he's not .. and it's one of his characteristics that most people don't understand.

Bush is not a finger pointer .. He's responsible for what he says and does and he expects others to be the same.

But .. I'm going to let my media contacts know that the very same expressions the President had on his face are exactly the same expressions I have on my face when these lying, smirking, democrats show up on my TV and start calling my President a liar.

I believe the RNC has put together a list of all the statements Kerry made last night, shown against what Kerry has said previously. You might find a reference to the statement there.
