I can just here Dan next week.

"Welcome to the CBS Evening News. I would like to take this opportunity to resign my position. It turns out that very soon I will be coming into an enormous amount of money. While I can't give the details, I will say that I am helping the Nigerian people. So I am resigning so I don't have to take any more right-wing crap.

Oh, yeah. I plan on giving 1/2 of the 100 million I get from the Nigerians to Craig Sherhold.

Courage."

But they intentionally omit real[sic] documents such as the Congressional Register which reflects that about a half-dozen congressmen (led by Charles Rangel, D-NY) did introduce legislation to re-institute the draft. I guess they are not used to working with real docs.

Unbelievable that cBS feels comfortable enough to churn out another biased, unsubstantiated, anti-Bush hit piece based on a HOAX. Where is the FCC?

This is desperation. And if CBS is going down, they may as well go down in flames!

Here we go again, It seems clear to me that CBS News needs to be torn apart and reassembled. I think that CBS would get better ratings if they just shut down their news organization and told views to watch another channel for the news.

She's a Bush supporter today, but if she doesn't like what she hears between now and November, Beverly could easily cross over.

Oh, she sounds very creditable to me.

Hey is it me or is RatherBiased.com down again? I am getting a 403 error. This site has died at probably its most important time.

Sen. JOHN KERRY (Democratic presidential candidate): I will give us a foreign policy that absolutely makes it unnecessary to have a draft for this country.

Oh really? What is this that was just scrubbed from your website, Senator?

Did someone send this to Rush yet??? We know how he loves to expose their dirty tricks. I think it will make for an interesting afternoon of the Rush Limbaugh Show.

I have noticed over the past several days that the letters to the editor in our local newspaper have verbatim many of the paragraphs from your article. In addition to that many of these letters are word for word other "talking points" that the Kerry camp throws out. Today's letter writer tells us that Kerry has a plan to get us out of Iraq that doesn't require using the draft!

I would assume that other local newspapers are seeing the same letter writing campaign to sway the vote.

What amazes me is the lack of originality in these letters. Let's just cut and paste!

Not intending to redirect the thread but $26 million and 161 employees works out to $161,491 per employee. Can I apply for a position? Where do I go to do so? And this would keep me below the $200k tax ceiling that sKerry is advocating.

"Also, note that the alleged author has an email address ending in usdoj.gov, or the Department of Justice. The Selective Service System is a unit of the Department of Defense."

Not that it really matters, but the SSS is an independant agency and it's not a DOD unit.  Just the same, they say:

Notwithstanding recent stories in the news media and on the Internet, Selective Service is not getting ready to conduct a draft for the U.S. Armed Forces -- either with a special skills or regular draft.

Anybody have a link on this article?  All I got was:

For starters, we need to mass email cBS News at evening@cbsnews.com to let them know that just like the RatherGate/MemoGate attack, we are fully aware of their downright biased, deceitful reporting and we are putting all their sponsors on notice as well. It is absolutely intentionally dishonest to use the hoax email while ignoring the indisputable fact that the only bills introduced for any consideration have been initiated and supported exclusively by liberal Dems! Secondly, we need to mass email all advertisers for CBS Evening News that we have begun a boycott that will not end until cBS fires everyone involved in this story!

Dear RatherBiased; In April I believe, it was none other than Ralph Nader who began the "rumor" of the draft coming back; and was then immediately seconded by the Democrats. I have no note indicating the rumor was "sprung" before this so-called official "notice" of one. Oh yes, I DOOO believe the Dems are out to "cancel" Nader. Gotta bridge to sell?

Oh, here it is:

Nader tells youths to brace for draft

By Steve Miller

THE WASHINGTON TIMES

Presidential candidate Ralph Nader this weekend warned his constituents that a military draft is pending, and asked younger voters to prepare...."The Pentagon is quietly recruiting new members to fill local draft boards, as the machinery for drafting a new generation of young Americans is being quietly put into place," Mr. Nader said in a press release sent out to constituents and posted on his Web site during the weekend.... "Young Americans need to know that a train is coming, and it could run over their generation in the same way that the Vietnam War devastated the lives of those who came of age in the sixties."

I sent it off to c-BS affiliate in San Diego KFMB, as well as Rick Roberts KFMB Radio (sits in for Savage) he has been talking about it all morning. CBS does it again!
