The good news is John Kerry did an interview on Good Morning America, and he was asked about his "I voted for it before I voted against it" comment.
Kerry responded, "No, it wasn’t classic at all. It just was a very inarticulate way of saying something, and I had one of those inarticulate moments late in the evening when I was dead tired in the primaries and I didn't say something very clearly."
Hey, it happens! No big deal. Everybody has made a comment that doesn't make sense late at night... except...
“‘I actually did vote for his $87 billion, before I voted against it,’ [Kerry] told a group of veterans at a noontime appearance at Marshall University. He went on to explain that he preliminarily backed the request, so long as it was financed not by deficit spending but with a tax surcharge on the wealthy that Bush opposed.”
As Bush spokesman Steve Schmidt suggested, maybe his watch was on Paris time.

Lots of laughs, but not quite as funny when Kerry, trying to look like a regular guy when he visited a town in Pennsylvania earlier this month and got tangled up in his inability to speak clearly. As reported by the Times' David Halbfinger: "'Everybody told me, 'God, if you're coming to Canonsburg, you've got to find time to go to Toy's, and he'll take care of you,' Mr. Kerry said, dropping the name of a restaurant his motorcade had passed on the way in. 'I understand it's my kind of place, because you don't have to—you know, when they give you the menu. I'm always struggling: Ah, what do you want? He just gives you what he's got, right?' Mr. Kerry added, continuing steadily off a gangplank of his own making: 'And when you don't have to worry, it's whatever he's cooked up that day. And I think that's the way it ought to work, for confused people like me who can't make up our minds.'"
Give Kerry credit for admitting he's "confused," which is one of the more colossal understatements of this campaign. And one hopes that during the debates, when the senator's asked about why his sister Diana is insulting Australian Prime Minister John Howard, a key ally in the war against terrorism, by saying that Howard's endangered his fellow citizens by joining forces with Bush, Kerry will become just as tongue-tied.
I don't know if Bush is "incurious" [the preferred euphemism by Democratic journalists who believe the President is stupid] or not, but he certainly wouldn't have fumbled a lunch order in a town outside of Pittsburgh. Bush would've simply said to the proprietor, or cook, "What's good today? Great, I'll have it."

Did you hear Rush yesterday? I happened to catch part of his show. I don't recall the exact words, but he was talking about how Democrats like to paint themselves as the caring, compassionate party, in touch with the 'working' man, and the paint the Republicans as the mean, rich party, out of touch. But the reality is, as Rush put it, they are the ones who are rich and out of touch and actually afraid of the 'common' man and their policies keep them at bay and removed from them. This really illustrates how Kerry (and many other democrats) operates day to day.

Yep. Its a 24 hour day job. Its not verbal slips that bother people - even I'm guilty of not checking what I said in my previous post to be sure it was grammatically correct; after all we're only human and do make mistakes. What bothers people is that Kerry can't remember what he said before and in a chief executive we need someone who pays full attention to the job. He doesn't look at it like its hard work - who can begrudge a fellow who lives off the taxpayers' dime while NOT working in his Senate job. The problem isn't that Kerry's prone to gaffes; its that he has the work ethic of someone who never needs to worry where his next meal comes from. And that more than anything else, is what is turning average Americans off to his candidacy.

You know, This could point out yet another serious flaw with this goofy candidate. This actually means that he inadvertently ADMITTED that he can't think very well late at night!!! Let alone at noon time!!!
