RADNOR, Pa. - Don't let her white hair and grandmotherly features fool you. Democrats should be scared of Mary Auchincloss.
Almost every night, in a sprawling office in this Philadelphia suburb, she sits for hours with pages of names of potential voters and punches up their telephone numbers until her fingers are numb. She is working, she believes, for the good of her country.

There are some nursing home residents in my small berg that are actively supporting GW. I think it's awesome.
This is part of 72-Hour Task Force and Victory 2004 that oversees this effort all across the Country. It will not only get out the votes for President Bush but for all our candidates in every state.
If anyone hasn't signed up, they need to do so today because we need volunteers in every state to man those phones to get our voters out. In our case, our County has a 72-hour Task Force that will be getting our office next Tuesday with the phones set up and ready to start making calls.
If your county does not have a 72-Hour Task Force, then call your state party and find out how you can volunteer. Turnout of Republicans and Republican leaning voters is vital in this election for all our candidates.
Bump! Its the volunteers who will make the weak Gore States BUSH COUNTRY on Election Day!
That may be as it may but in my opinion Free Republic will also play a big role.
The members of this forum and about 40 Republicans in Dade County keep al gore out of the White House.
It is so much fun to work the telephone banks. Sure a person gets yelled at maybe once an evening, but you get a lot more people (including dimocrats) who will be voting for Bush.
Biggest category however, is the 'Not Home' category which we put down when we get a message machine. (Used to leave a message, but we have more and more calls to make, it seems, so they have dropped that requirement!)
In 2002, Andrew Cuomo was quite upset that Republicans
were able to trump the 'Rat GOTV effort.
Warms my heart. ;o)
I won't give details, but based on what I'm hearing, Kerry is beyond toast in OH.
Thanks for the ping, PhiKapMom! I believe that it is through the efforts of every INDIVIDUAL conservative that President Bush will be re-elected. We all need to focus on talking to just a few people every day, convincing them of what is the right thing to do. Be a good role model of a Republican voter. I know several registered Democrats who are voting for a Republican president for the first time in their lives! Educate people into making the right choices.

As a word of warning about the 72 hour program, don't do it outside your own area if it will involve reimbursable expenses. I went down to Lexington, Kentucky to help in the Special Election to replace Ernie Fletcher and stayed overnight. They initially offered to reimburse the cost of the hotel room, and I said don't worry about it all, just give me the first $20 and I'll consider the rest of the a contribution to the campaign.
4 months later, I'm still waiting. Don't incur any expense with them unless you're willing to never get it back.
All of us were told up front if we travel to another state or area, our expenses are on us. Cong Istook was very upfront about that.
We have a local 72-Hour HQ opening Tuesday here in Norman -- our pathetic county party took the office to Moore and it is too small to house a phone bank. :( We managed to get the 72-Hour people to fund one here in Norman which is the heart of the County and where most of the candidates reside.
This effort also applies to GOP Senate candidate Pete Coors and others running for office statewide. Coors is up against State AG Ken Salazar, but I believe Coors will pull it out. Salazar's brother is running for Scott McInnis` GOP House seat and is up against a weak candidate, Greg Walcher. Both Salazar brothers are expected to get 85%-90% of the Hispanic vote. Walcher is in trouble.
Thanks to you guys and MO, OK is now involved. They saw the results and if we had this effort in 2002, we would not have a Democrat Governor now.
The effort you all turned out in CO was fantastic. I actually think 72-hours is too short and was so happy to see us actually get a HQ to do this activity with a phone bank.
By 2006, maybe we will catch up with you guys on how it is done. :) We had to start from scratch in the spring but we have come a long ways fighting the county establishment at times and why we have a separate headquarters!
GWB volunteer's, getting out the vote ~ Bump!
"Minority president"? Only has his base? Gimme a break.
That was your program in Oklahoma at another time. I'm talking about the special election held in May in Lexington, Kentucky. If they weren't going to do any reimbursements, then they need to say that up-front. There were busloads of people from Washington, DC in town for this program, and all their expenses were paid for.
"Turnout of Republicans and Republican leaning voters is vital in this election for all our candidates."
Bump!!
