Ever wonder why politicians of both major parties show little interest in cracking down on illegal immigration?
Here's one possibility: The 8-12 million illegals already in this country represent one of the largest, special-interest voting blocks in America.
What? You say illegal aliens are not permitted to vote? That's right, of course. But they are also not permitted legally to be in this country. And, it seems, there is just about as much enforcement preventing them from voting as there is keeping them out of the country.
Think about it.
If you're registered to vote, you know what it takes. No one asked you to prove your citizenship. No one asked to see your birth certificate or your passport.
Some jurisdictions require a photo ID, but, of course, there's nothing to prevent even illegal aliens from getting drivers' licenses legally in nearly half the states in America including some of the biggest.
Some jurisdictions require applicants to sign a pledge on voter-registration forms affirming they are U.S. citizens. But, again, if you're willing to break into the country illegally, the need to lie to a county clerk is probably not going to be much of a deterrent to voting.
Some jurisdictions require voters to provide their Social Security numbers, but illegal aliens often have those either real ones or fake ones.
As state elections officials told the Washington Times recently, there's simply no place for those registering voters to go to find out who is legal and who is not.
"There is no way of checking," said Maryland State Board of Elections Administrator Linda H. Lamone. "We have no way of doing that. We have no access to any information about who is in the United States legally or otherwise."
Of the 8 million to 12 million illegal aliens believed to be in the country, about two-thirds are of voting age. That's a huge voting block even if fewer than a third of them even bother. In a close election like 2000, they could more than make the difference.
"The whole system isn't well-guarded," said Steven Camarota, director of research at the Washington-based Center for Immigration Studies. "There's no system in place to really prevent illegal aliens from voting or even to deter them from voting."
No federal agency keeps records of which undocumented immigrants are in the country. And, of course, no state or local governments do either.
Camarota said a higher percentage of legal immigrants who are not citizens might be voting illegally.
Making matters worse, many cities in America permit non-citizens to vote in local elections. This practice conditions illegals to vote and most make little distinction between local, state and national elections.
"Voter ID cards" were provided to people who were in the INS system, but were non-citizens. They were encouraged to vote for Democrats, even though they were clearly ineligible to vote.
There was some momentary outrage over the scandal, as reported exclusively in WorldNetDaily, but with a presidential cliffhanger and dozens of other Clinton administration scandals unresolved, unaddressed and unpunished, the furor soon fizzled.
I have little hope that monumental injustice will ever be investigated. I have little hope America will wake up to the danger of this kind of class and race politics. I have little hope that the next election will be any different.
This kind of abuse is going to lead in one of two directions:
It's a form of tyranny, really, when the government tolerates voting by non-citizens ineligible to vote and actively encourages more of them to enter the country. It make politicians unaccountable to the people and unaccountable to the rule of law.
But there will be a day of reckoning some time.
It could be a major terrorist attack perpetrated by operatives who used the same techniques to enter the country that the illegal aliens use.
It could be the crime rate exacerbated by illegal aliens reaches the point that American citizens take matters into their own hands.
It could be rising taxes, health-care costs and insurance premiums deliver a wake-up call.
It could be any number of possibilities or any combination. But that day of reckoning is coming. And I wouldn't want to be one of the self-serving politician-collaborators when that day comes.
They already outnumber Republicans here in New York City.
Vote fraud is the only thing that could make Kerry a winner on November 2nd. And nothing prevents illegal aliens from voting and there are still no measures in place to safeguard the integrity of the electoral process. Its a disaster waiting to happen.
I may not be able to vote either. Its a shame I am helping secure a country so they can hold elections in January and yet I will be denied the right to vote becuase of some damn lawyers. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1229581/posts
Voter fraud in Wisconsin probably won the state for Gore in 2000 and will win it for Kerry in 2004. Everyone saw what went on in Florida but not much was said about the fraud here in Wisconsin.
A pack of cigarettes and a ride to the polling place bought the homeless vote for Gore.
In this state students can vote at their colleges. It was rumored some of them were then driving home to their local precincts to vote again.
The other day on News Radio WISN they were talking about this left wing group having been deputized as voting registrars going out and signing people up to vote. The problem they have with this is even though you're are suppose to show a photo ID who was going to prove they were doing it. Then a listener called and and said his son received a card telling him he was registered to vote. The listener said his son didn't realize he had register especially since he had just gotten out of jail.
Anyone feel like a disenfranchised voter yet. As close as the last election was here in Wisconsin it appears they're trying to keep this state in the Kerry column by hook or crook.

Challenging a voter:
1. The presiding election judge or chairman, an election clerk, a poll watcher, or any other person lawfully in the polling place (a voter) may challenge the right of a voter to vote at the election.
2. The challenge must take place before the voter votes!
3. If you are unable to determine a voters qualifications for voting, i.e. the voters name is not listed on the List of Registered Voters and the Voter Registrar cannot verify registration by phone, the voter should have his right to vote challenged.
4. Other reasons to challenge a persons right to vote are:
**Under the influence of alcohol or drugs
**Known to have voted earlier that day
**Known to have moved out of the precinct over 90 days ago but did not transfer voter registration.
**The voter is being intimidated by another voter, i.e. a husband dominating a wife or political activist intimidating a voter.
**The voter is not a U.S. citizen
**Voter is not 18 years old.
5. If the voter eligibility is challenged, the presiding judge should require the challenger to state the specific ground(s) for the challenge. This is directed to the presiding judge.
6. The presiding judge shall inform the voter of the challenge and the issues raised by the challenger. The presiding judge must then require the voter to swear to the facts that are necessary to meet the challengers objection(s). Ask the voter to read the Affidavit of a Challenged Voter from completely; the voter must fill out the form in its entirely if he wishes to vote. If the challenged voter does not execute the Affidavit of a Challenged Voter, the voter may not be accepted for voting, and Rejected shall be entered on the List of Registered Voters beside the voters name.
7. If the voter is accepted for voting and his name is not on the List of Registered Voters, fill out the information required on the Registration Omissions List.
Voter fraud ping.
Thanks for the ping! Voter fraud is very much alive in NM. There is already litigation over it. Hopefully the NM SC will rule in favor that ALL of the new voters have to show a picture ID when they vote. Needless to say, the RATS are protesting, saying that would disenfranchise voters. That's what makes me know we've got thousands of illegal voters registered in NM. IF not for Hillary's ambitions to run in 08, I would be very concerned that President Bush would not be reelected.
What's the keen Karl Rove Republican plan for dealing with this? Does anybody know. Pull-EASE do NOT say turnout!
In 2000, Gore (read Brazile, Rendell, Daley) stole 5 states that any fool can prove, maybe 1 or 2 more. We can turn'em out till the cows come home, but if we let vote fraud go unpunished, it'll be Bush who's turned out.
This is all thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Clintoon, motor/voter laws.
Gee, Thanks.
They outnumber all others. We may as well turn the country over to Mr. Vicente Fox.

This is no minor issue--it is the stealing of something that so many men and women have given their lives to win and protect--the democratic process of our republic!
How low will Democrats go? (I don't just say "the Left," since this seems to be tied closely to party, rather than just ideology.)
Counter-Attacks in politics and war, need top cover. We ain't got it. Yet.
I do hope it comes soon... these things take time, and the electorate will not be very patient for a lot of post-election adjustments.
Guess what I saw (and photographed) tonight... a vehicle (from a local college) with official Commonwealth of Pennsylvania license plates -- and a giant Kerry/Edwards sign in the back window.
