So now what?
They also screwed the pooch in the Bears, Vikings game several times, the Vikings got lucky they beat the Bears 2nd team by 5 points, I have no doubt if the Bears had Brian Urlacher, Mike Brown, Charles Tillman and Alfonso Boone in the lineup and not hurt they would have won that game decisively. It also would have been nice if Rex Grossman didn't get hurt his knee toward the end of the game ending his season...
That's funny. I watched the game and thought both calls were right. In both instances, there was contact. To me, the difference was that the 1st (called) pass interference impacted the receiver far more than the 2nd (not called) pass interference.
On any given Sunday, many worse calls are made.
The NFL always does this in their review of tapes a few days after the actual game.
The fact remains they can't do anything about it. The refs made a mistake and the game has been played. It's more of a quality control issue for the future than anything else.
I am correct in assuming you went to WCHS?
Watch the MNF game and you can find at least 5 calls which were major and were blown, at least one of which was even reviewed and still not corrected. I don't see hte NFL pleading guilty to the first iffy pass interference call in that game which game the skins the ball on the one. This sounds like a conspiracy to help the hometown team and their spoiled billionaire owner.
Tee shirt at the Reagan airport-
There are only two teams, the Redskins
and any team who beats the Cowboys.
The horse**** calls didn't all go the Cowboys way. Clinton Portis got two no-calls on the same play in the 3rd quarter. One when he trapped a pass but was credited with catching it, and the other when he was allowed to advance the ball for a first down after he was touched on the ground. That kept a late Redskins drive alive and made the score a lot closer than it should have been.
I watched the game and the calls and concluded the ref's weren't going to let the Redskin's win! It's a shame, but Gibb's was the better coach in this matchup even burning up his timeouts. The Boys would not have beaten Gibbs without the bad calls.
Yeah, they blew that game. I wasn't too pleased. But you can't blame the refs. When you have the ball first and goal on the one and you can't punch it in. That's your ballgame. The wasted timeout for an obvious TD was a bad move too.
If not, the NFL may as well hire Stevie Wonder to be a Field Judge.
I saw the missed pass interferance non-call. That was a good break for the 'Boys. The exposed right shoulder pad was a good indicator.
So, to help lighten the mood, here's a joke:
Q: What do you call a drug ring in Dalls?
A: A huddle.
Puhhh-leez What a lame attempt to deny the 'Boys their rightful status as the better men of the day. Vinny threw like Ray Charles (as usual), but we still managed. Bill is going to coach them to another Super Bowl win this year. Prepare for defeat fatbodies!
Yessir...every time I think the Raiders have the most obnoxious fans in the world, the Cowboys fans have to outdo 'em. *whistle*
(my team, if I were a football person, would be whichever team is playing the cow pies).
