So now what?
Well , I mean, John Edwards is obviously looking for work and.....
So nothing. Admission of error is all the NFL will or can do in such a situation. It is bad enough during the regular season, but try it in the playoffs. Ouch.
Referees should be younger, more fit, better eyesight: recent retirees from the league might be best...not guys in their 50s who never played and sadly cannot see very well.
Get rid of the replay rule...send the zebras to officiating school...make them full time officials and make the rules state that the ruling of the referee stands. Period. Just like baseball. Coaches and players can kick and scream when they don't like a call but it won't change a thing (even if they may be right an the ref blew the call) but it may get you ejected.
While Petronski is correct that not much will be done for this specific game.................The NFL does keep a running total of 'mistakes' and appeals during the course of the season. Referees with a lot of mistakes next to their name are not allowed to officiate during the playoffs.
Well I guess I still owe my bookie. Damn refs.
