Just felt a quake here in the Fresno area...
I just sent money to Red Cross and encourage all to do the same for our Hurricane neighbors. God Bless you all.
No doubt. Trenches, geophones, seismos, lasers, the whole deal. In fact, not to make light of anything, but this is THE quake that all the geophysicists have been waiting for with respect to all the instrumentation.
Approx. 750 quakes in the U.S. and Puerto Rico in the last week. This image will automatically update for any additional quakes.
"Evan Hollywood"? Perhaps did you mean "Evander Hollyfield deserves to live"?
Georgia..you may get one of these little treats one day too..don't gloat..we are not gloating about the bad weather your way...
There were two events. The 5.0 happened very close in time to the 5.9.
"It's the big one, Elizabeth!"
I work at the ultra-left enclave of University of California, Santa Cruz (condolances accepted) and had to bite my tongue to keep from saying out loud in cubicle land with EXTREME sarcasm "It was Bush's fault!"
Mt. St. Helens...all clear.
I love it..Kerry changing postitions again...
This is Bush's fault, no doubt. Soon as he got done sending hurricanes to Florida, he hammered the Californians with earthquakes. Karl Rove is likely involved at the deepest levels.
hang in there!
Well, unfortunately I didn't feel it in Pasadena. Damn! (Born and raised here, so I expect them at anytime LOL)
Felt the first 2 really good here in San Luis Obispo.

The Fox News Alert banner had "7.8 Quake", and I about fell of my chair. They have since fixed it.
I'm not gloating.
I'm merely reveling in your bad fortune.
>:^)
Parkfield averaged a mag 6.0 quake every 22 years on a very regular schedule for a VERY long period of time.
So the area was wired up with more seismic monitoring equipment than any other place on earth....and then they didn't get the 22 year quake :-)
Actually pretty cool (presuming this did very limited damage, which it likely did) that it finally happened, as with more monitoring there than anywhere else on the planet, we'll learn an awful lot scientifically from this quake.
