The rally took place at Voice of America Park in West Chester, Ohio, today. Sean Hannity interviewed several people who were there. The number of people who had tickets was over 60,000, and even more showed up. Hannity said it was the largest political rally in Ohio's history, and one of the largest ever. Enjoy the pics:
This was in Xenia, Ohio, where the bus stopped so the president could greet people:
Uh, yeah! How come you haven't been to any freeps I've been at?! ;)
Hmmm...other FReepers have shared similar reports from the supposedly Dem states of California, Connecticut, Oregon and now New York. Let's hope the momentum continues.
Ah, but then GWB has a mandate. They've been sticking the election numbers in our face since 2000. I'm more concerned about the voting system, recount possibilites and back-up, AND BIG time voter fraud. There are even more tricks this time because they see the writing on the wall and they're desperate to change it. Legal be damned. Wins the word for the dems, at all cost.
Great news!
"And an angel still rides in the whirlwind and directs this storm."
"By far the greatest interest in this election than any other I've volunteered on over a 20-year span."
Wow, is all I can say.
Canadians laugh up here--they say, "Americans are just worried about SECURITY and SAFETY," as if they were dirty words.
Well, I felt it--I am kind of in a bubble up here, but when I was in the U.S. two weeks ago, in New Jersey, on the 9/11 anniversary--I could *feel* it in the air. The flags everywhere... what people talk about... yes, Americans are worried about security.
And, they should be. The Islamic Jihad has no greater target now. This election will be like none other in our history.
Okay, signing off now.. but thanks for this thread and these pictures, Wolfstar.
And thans for your work on behalf of GW. :)
Apparently Brokaw already cut the size of the crowd in half in his report this evening. He reported it as 30,000. I think I trust Sean Hannity and Daryl Whorley a tad more than I trust Brokaw.
"Actually, Inauguration Day is always on January 20th"
Okay, thanks for the correction--and Happy Birthday in advance! :)
You're welcome, kitkat.
Wolfstar, I really appreciate your report on what's going on "out there". Thanks so much for your take on what's happening and what it all means.
""And an angel still rides in the whirlwind and directs this storm."
One last bttt before bedtime. :)
Truer, nor more prophetic words, were ever spoken.
God bless America.
I've been busy working during the week, and volunteering at the local GOP HQ the rest of the time. We've actually got people going out of their way to come in a phone. First time I've ever seen that. Got six phones and gonna put more in this week. No one seems to care that California is supposedly not in play for the president. People are doing it, I think, because of 9/11/01. There's kind of an unstated need to do something to strike back, and I think helping our Dubya in this election is one of the few ways ordinary people can do that.
You make a good point about the differences in how Republicans and Democrats look at the issue of "personal responsibility" and how the state fits into that perception.
I sometimes feel as if Democrats don't think that personal responsibility and its exercise is possible without the "helping hand" of the state.
its like they could find 5 seniors to scare about Social Security.
That is what I thought. That one had his hands where he coulc grab W if he needed to.
Picture that Bush snowball rolling down the hill (the hill with the shining city on it).
Picture the snowball getting bigger and bigger. Picture it so big by election day that no one can stop it.
Picture we Florida freepers at Gonzo's election night victory party.......now THAT will be a pretty picture!

Thanks for posting the great pictures!
Good points. I saw the polls in New York State today and Kerry is up by only 7 points. Governor Pataki told reporters "Welcome to the new battle ground State." That was a great line.
The reporters then asked him if they thought New York would see the campaigns actually spend money in New York. The Governor said no, because if New York is within grasp of Bush then Bush will be so far ahead in other States that he won't need to spend money in New York. And if Kerry is close to losing in New York then nothing will help his campaign. Yep, I have to agree with you that things are looking good for Dubya right now. GLTY. Go Bush.
You're welcome, YaYa. I can only report what I see and experience first hand. During the month of August, lots of people came to the HQ where I volunteer looking for Bush-Cheney yard signs. But we didn't have any because the campaign is not putting a lot of resources into California. So people were asked to put their names on a list for signs. We literally had pages and pages of names. I began calling the folks this past Saturday because the signs had come in a couple of days before. As I said, in all the years I've volunteered, nothing approaches the level of interest and excitement I'm seeing this time. I'm afraid to jump to conclusions about what it might mean in the big picture. But I also think something is happening that the media and polls are not picking up (or are not telling us about).
Speaking of election night, I discovered recently just how much I hunger for a victory celebration. It was snatched from us in 2000 and I didn't realize until just the last week or two how much I missed it.
