Breaking: Major Demonstration In Iran Against The Regime (200 to 400 Thousand in the streets)!

Major Demonstration In Tehran!!!

It is being reported by Azadi Tv (Iranian Satellite TV) that between 200,000 to 400,000 Iranians have started a demonstration in front of Tehran University in support of Azhura Khaleghe Yazdi and it is still going on as we report this.

Dr Yazdi has been claiming that the Iranian regime will end next week when he returns to Iran.

It was an anti-regime demonstration using the pretext of the victory of Iran in the battle to free the city of Abadan in Iran/Iraq war. Then the anti demonstration police force was called in and they fled because of overwhelming resistance of people, so other forces were called in but, as it has been reported the clashes became sporadic and the crowd moved from there towards Amirabad and.

We also heard on Azadi Tv from Mr. Yazdi himself that the force called "Pasdaran" have called him and supported him for his return this week to Iran and said that if anybody harms their Iranian brothers and sisters they will fight with them and will fully support people!

More information will be posted as it develops...

I question the timing of this.

When will the Left wake up to the fact the the Iraqi War is VITAL to winning the War on Terror?

They know, it's just not in their best interests to concede this fact, even though it's vital to National Security.

This actually makes things more complicated. I now have to modify my "nuke em all" view...

The affection of the Persian people for America has always been a problem with the nuke them all pov.

If it comes to it, I hope we are careful to nuke Qom and the other baloney "holy" cities.

Yes, my instinct tells me that THIS thread is a lot more representative about what's really happening.

How pathetic for the French Press to be covering up what's going on.

if they follow mad mo's prescriptions for jews and christians... they are worthless nazi's of a religious stripe.
and should all be wiped out.

fortunately, not all islamics follow or believe those practices. but then again, they aren't considered 'practising' muslims by the islamists... hence when they try to stage a revolt, the fundies kill them like cattle.

The iranians, I believe, do not have the wherewithal to tumble their own government of hardliners. I wish I was wrong about that.

If it were true that journalists across the country read FreeRepublic, and if it weren't true that they are part of the Media Wing of the Democratic Party, they wouldn't be writing such praise of Kerry and such criticism of the President.

what can we do to help them.......

We already did it, by taking out Saddam and sticking to our promise to put Iraq on the road towards a free democracy. And the Iranians have been watching the Mullahs drag them into yet another war, this time with the US and a free Iraq. They've also noticed that almost all of the victims in this "insurgency" (which it isn't, an insurgency must be home grown) are fellow Muslims.

Everyone has been waiting for some big event in Iraq to affect the election. What will be the effect of a relatively peaceful transition from the Mullahs to something new? I'm betting that the "anti-demonstration" and other forces that came to counter this protest left, not so much because they were intimidated by the size of the crowd, but because they really didn't have the heart anymore to back the Mullahs. Its almost exactly what happened when the Shah fell.
