Fox News Bill O'Reilly Admits His Liberalism and Democrat tilt
Wire Reports/The Spokesman-Review | 9-25-2004 | Unknown

On Sunday's "60 Minutes" during which he is interviewed by longtime CBS newscaster Mike Wallace, Fox News Commentator Bill O'Reilly comes out with some surprising comments. He says he is pro-gun control, anti-death penalty, for civil unions and for gay adoption, (as a last resort instead of state custody). And he won't necessarily vote for President Bush in November.

I've known (Democratic presidential nominee John) Kerry for 25 years. He's a patriot. I'm listening to what he has to say," O'Reilly says.

O'Reilly is a waste of oxygen.

The Program Director at KDKA (Pittsburgh), a former FM-type, recently canned Rush Limbaugh in favor of O'Reilly in the 12:00-3:00 slot. Rush is moving to different station effective Nov 15. Smooth move by the Program Director.

I bet KDKA's ratings tank. O'Reilly is such a blowhard. I used to watch O'Reilly when he first started, but grew quitetired of his obnoxious approach. ('Course, I don't watch much television anymore, except for sporting events.)

I'll be watching Mon, Tue and Wed this week

O'Reilly has a 3 part interview with President Bush

I "spot check" him other nights to get the
DNC talking points from him.

Once Nov 2 is over with I'll never watch him.

Besides he can't compete with Arnold on Green Acres

Billy-boy has jumped the shark.

He's slowly positioning himself to take over a network anchor chair. That's why he's dealing with Gunga Dan in a kid-glove manner. He doesn't want to risk enemies at the networks.

He'll male his move when he goes on the air on Fox and trashes Roger Ailes and the "ideology" they are "pushing".

I mostly ignore him anymore. He bores me.

> anything but Greta

No problem there.... she comes on at 10 p.m. ET, which is when the local news stations do their evening shows. I watch FNC for national news and commentary, but put on local news for local stories, weather, and traffic. I'll keep on FNC through Greta if there is some continuing coverage or breaking story (e.g., during the GOP convention), but other than that, I'm with you -- Greta's outta there.

Oh, and as another poster mentioned -- I'm not crazy about Scientologists either. Another strike against her.

Lastly, there's the point that they are Scientologists, IIRC. I always have doubts about that. (And yes, I know about John Travolta.)

She's in a cult, then.

I remember her excitedly telling Hannity about an upcoming guest who communicates with the dead, and Sean politely changed the subject, lol.

Also, I'd rather hear fingernails on a chalkboard than to hear Greta speak.

"He may not be a conservative, but he does seem to have the right views on many topics and isn't steeped in liberal talking points."

Things in the middle of the road get run over. orielly is very liberal, anyone who claimes there is no difference in President Bush and JFKerry is a loon.

I had a few reservations about O'Reilly, still do. But, he represents and is a registered independent. Some of you on this site are doing exactly what he wants us not to do, spin it. We conservatives are logical, rational and ethical people = we are sensible enough to realize that its important in a democracy to have differing viewpoints. I agree that O'Reilly is more left of center than right, but I do trust him to not spin his interviews. I was impressed with his boycotts of France and Canada, that's why I believe he is a true independent and his views are his as ours are ours. We are big enough to listen to opposing viewpoints to either confirm our beliefs or give our rivals the benefit of a doubt. Unfortunately our rivals are so extreme that we are skeptical of anyone appearing to be with them. I don't mind liberals being honest with themselves but when they are blind idealogues, I get scared. I also know that we have to be careful not to blind either - Republicans need to wear the white hats of understanding - we can't be so easy to be against anyone who is not 100% with us. Remember - we have the big tent. O'Reilly has a big head for his ratings on Fox, so what. He is getting the President on prime time for three nights next week, John Kerry will not and O'Reilly will not let Kerry live that down. He just signed a 5 year contract with Fox, but I do agree his timeslot should be switched with Hannity. But being number 1 has perks. Let's just be glad that his ratings makes the MSM look bad. Justice enough for me!

I just meant that it wasn't his politics that had me stop watching O'Reilly. Yes, his show does well, but he doesn't think it's entertainment. He thinks he's a serious journalist, now referring to himself in the third person in the same breath with Jennings and Brokaw. This is the sort of thing that makes him a joke to me.

> Laura Ingraham would be an excellent replacement. She's intelligent, open-minded, highly entertaining, an a lot better looking than Bill.

And she's funny, too! Have you ever heard her nighttime talk show on WABC (NYC metro area)? She and her broadcast crew have so much fun when they're on the air. They'd probably do the show even if they weren't getting paid -- it's like a party in the studio when Laura's show is broadcasting.

We are witnessing the beginning of the end of the ever-pompos, self-righteous "no-spin" guy. He thinks he's pulled the wool over his faithful listener's eyes/ears. Although I am sure he's laughing all the way to the bank, it will be short lived. He's betrayed his audience. He's finished on talk radio.

I like many things about the History Channel, but to be watching an interesting historical program, and suddenly to be blindsided and jarred with a PC liberal agenda, clinches it for me, I am out of there muy pronto with a single click.

At least I know now its not just me.

If he doesn't have any friends, it is because he is a dick, not because he is "fair and balanced".

"Fox needs to get rid of Greta Van Susterin.
I'm sick of Scott Peterson talk every day.
I wonder what will Greta talk about when this trial is over."

Some of these people like Greta, Rita, Abrams and others have gone over ghoulish to the point where I am beginning to think they are closet necrophilia nut cases. I mean enough already, I know they cater to a warped audience, but cripes, it gets really weird for people to be that obsessed with hacked up bodies, strangled corpses, rotten cadavers and such.

I keep waiting for them to spring a snuff film reality show.

Orielly constantly refers to the "left" & "right" as ideologues and one and the same.

That is a personal insult and a "SPIN" from his "almighty" mouth.

Doesn't surprise me at all. He has no morals. And I would just bet he is the type that is so condescending and rude to the 'little people'. Just like his buddy Kerry. Yuck.

He looks like a cheap commercial guy.

He used to lead in the ratings and lately H&C have been beating him.

Personally I would like to see Brit Hume have BORe's time slot.
