The complaints address the use of "politically partisan electronic mail messages while on duty," according to a statement released by the OSC.

I receive a lot of Emails from service people and government employees who send every pro-Bush, anti-Hanoi John article or cartoon they find – and they all seem to have the .army.mil addresses.

Can he get in trouble for that?

Yes. It's against military rules and regs to actively campaign, while on duty, for any party or person.

I don't think so. The way I understand it- he could get in trouble for CRITICIZING the CIC. No problem speaking positivley about him.

Actually, you are not allowed to engage in any political campaigning for any political candidate while in uniform.

If you put a Kerry or Bush button on your uniform, that is definitely verboten.

In this particular photo, it is clear that the Marine is asking, "Who put this unauthorized political sticker on Marine Corps property?"...............(That's his story and he's stickin' to it.)

It's not authorized, and I'm sure it has been removed. I'm sure the photo was made as evidence to show that the Marines are investigating defacing of government property.

Sorry about the profanity, but the Marine Corp I know and love wouldn't have it any other way.

We always took the Hatch Act seriously when I was in - I never even had a bumper sticker because it might look as if I was endorsing a candidate if I were seen to ride/drive to work in uniform.

But, I thought you could keep stickers on your vehicles, a lot of people on my base have them. His vehicle just happens to be a Hum-Vee:)

I believe that this Marine is merely doing his duty pointing out that someone put a political sticker on a government vehicle that is not allowed.

I am sure, that after some days or weeks of trying to find the culprit, he and his fellow Marines removed the political sticker.

I heard what he said (from thousands of miles away) when he pointed at the sticker. Who in the hell put that on my RV?

END of story.
