Dumb women for Bush?
Knight Ridder ^ | September 24, 2004 | Steven Thomma, Knight Ridder Washington Bureau

Posted on 09/25/2004 5:40:48 AM PDT by jpw01

Are women on the East Coast smarter because they like John Kerry? Are women in the Midwest dumber because they don't like Kerry as much?

I wrote an article this week about how women are not supporting Kerry at the same level as they supported Al Gore in 2000. Citing a series of polls done for Knight Ridder and MSNBC, I noted that Kerry's support from women was lagging in Missouri and Ohio, two battleground states. Consequently, Kerry was trailing Bush in those states.

One woman who read the article in Philadelphia did not think it was news.

"I don't understand how it's anything new in the states you are citing," she said in a voice message left at my office. "Everyone knows Missouri, Ohio, that's going to be the polls there.

"Those of us who are more educated on the East Coast, women, are going to vote for Kerry. We always have. We always will."

Conservative columnist Ann Coulter had a different take. The trend made her "proud" of her gender, she said.

You see this woman has the same attitude of John Kerry, I kind of snobbery that pervades their very pores that oozes out to the surface and makes their nose ever so gently tip upward, while they look down on the rest of us.

The underlying message of this article is found throughout the national media. Male or female, the Leftist elites look down on us Bush voters as dumb and gullible Wal-Mart shopping rubes.

Why do women and minorities seem to get a pass when grouping themselves as they try to prove a point. Why can't we be individuals with separate brains.
I say when ever a group based on color or gender or religion groups their opinion as the opinion of others, their words are worth just ignoring.
Maybe they will go away!!
Anybody else tired of this?

"Those of us who are more educated on the East Coast, women, are going to vote for Kerry. We always have. We always will."

A perfect illustration of the slippery slope between Democrats and Communists. Here, the Democrat merely states that anybody who does not acknowledge the superiority of their great leader must be stupid. In typical Communist states (USSR, East Germany, North Korea), they take it only a short step further - disagreement with the great leader is seen as mental illness, and dissenters are rounded up and placed into mental hospitals (or prisons). Coming to a Democrat-led nation soon (but let's pray not).

If a woman is taking in by the left's lies and propaganda how does this qualify them as being more intelligent? Remember how Kerry used to say the recession was President Bush's fault? How he tells people America has gone it alone? How Iraq is a chaotic mess because one province out of 16 is still in disorder. How he says Haliburton recieved a no bid contract, the bid was in 2000, it was not due again. Besides, he never mentions the company he would prefer to do the Middle East work? Haliburton is the best, a less qualified company would cost lives. How instead of encouraging the laid off worker to GO GET A JOB he uses them as a campaign prop? Yeah, takes a much more intelligent woman to vote for Kerry.

Cite your source(s) please. Oh, you don't have any? What a surprise, maybe you could contact Dan Rather who is also of superior intelligence, and he could whip up a few forged stats for you.

The timing of my post was merely fortunate, but immediately following yours is a nice touch. Yes, America is tired of coastal self-righteousness which eventually reveals itself to be nothing but empty leftist ideology.

Oh I know. Difficult to begin.

" "Kerry would do better," said Helen Bronkhorst, 73, a retiree in Tucson, Ariz. "Bush should have finished the job in Afghanistan. He did it all wrong. I don't approve of what Bush did in Iraq. He went in there unnecessarily.""

This is so shortsighted it is difficult to understand why this woman is unable to see that the war fronts are all of one piece. It is the reordering of an entire geopolitical system and placement of troops to confront the reality of a world in flux now confronting it since the "end" of the cold war.

From the Kerry camp:

" "We need a president who will put the American government and legal system back on the side of women," the opening of Kerry's Web message to female voters said. "Throughout his decades-long career in public service, John Kerry has been a champion of women's issues. He and John Edwards will commit to helping women balance work and family, expand college opportunities, protect their health and their constitutional right to choose, increase funding for cancer research, fight violent crime and close the pay gap."

What is truly "dumb" are the campaign slogans and soundbites without explanation, and certainly things that have been and are being addressed now. The days of "a chicken in every pot and a car in every garage" are long over. Besides, the Kerry/Edwards camp cannot disguise their socialist ideology.

It is puerile to deem those who vote for President Bush "dumb." It is a matter of ideology. Those who would vote for Kerry are comfortable with socialism and the continuing government intrusion into their lives. I am not. Although we have creeping government under President Bush, it is not at the rate or the complexion we would have under Kerry.

about a month ago an Iowa women said, "I've voted for a democrat for years, but John Kerry acts so superior, like people in middle Amnerica are ignorant. Everyone back east thinks that. He is not getting my vote."

A few years ago my wife went to work in NYC, leaving a Utah home. The folks in NYC wondered if her family had indoor plumbing.

"Those of us who are more educated on the East Coast, women, are going to vote for Kerry. We always have. We always will."

So that's why Gore lost in 2000. All those educated East Coast women were trying to vote for Kerry and couldn't find him on the ballot.

When I expressed my shock that 50 million votes in 2000 went for the VP of a President that repeatedly violated his oath of office ( so why would you expect the VP not to also?) I was told by a Gore voter that didn't matter to him, he was voting for the ideology he most agreed with. If the ideology is coming from people of known corruption why would anyone want to believe it!?

Put up or shut up. What bills has John Kerry introduced to supposedly benefit women? I can only count ONE in twenty years. How does that qualify as a "champion"?
