Thought a thread in Breaking News for the weekend covering Hurricane Jeanne would be a good thing. Post your link, pics, updates and freeper check-in's here
Clearwater here. 6.40 am. Power went out for a very short time (couple of hours at most). I, once again, have fence down on both the front yard and the court yard. A tree limb snapped like a chicken bone and I think a part of the roof may have come up (sounded very odd inside). It's a flat roof on a Spanish style bungalow. The gutter is off of the cottage in the back but that needed mending anyway.
All of these things can be repaired, so no complaints. I worry about the many, many mobile home residents who are mostly senior citizens and who may not have a home to come back to when the evacs are lifted today.
Might be time to do another collection.
I had a Wabbit convertible. Just loved that little car.
You won't recognize the place now. Seriously.
Good Morning!
Is the sky a little clearer today?
Any news on the Indialantic area?
I have not heard from anyone and the TV, of course, has moved on to newer storm areas. ( and politics as usual )
The handle nice, drive well.
Still getting good winds and clouds this a.m.
Went outside, not near the damage as from Charley/Frances
Good morning! Are you in the sunshine yet? And how is your tree doing?
School closed today in all of coastal Georgia. The wind is now from the east instead of northeast, and it's moaning a bit. Some of the gusts seem a bit stronger than last night, but it's not as sustained. Radar shows the clouds have mostly passed us, but the sky doesn't support that. We haven't gotten as much rain as predicted, so far, however.
Checking in, all is well.
Well, I don't have power at home but I'm at work now.........
Looks like tornado on the ground near Valdosta??
Pink dot
Glad you're okay!
HAPPY!! to hear that.
Thanks for the pics last night.
Haven't called the 'rents yet, 'cause I don't want to wake them up. Sounds like things are not too bad in coastal GA.
That's not good. Prayers for those near Valdosta.
Looks like more bands headed our way...
Just Freepmail the address to me and I'll ask him to check as soon as he goes back.
He spoke with one of his neighbors last night who told him his house appeared to be undamaged. He lives on A1A, across from the beach.
I pray your home is OK, too.
It's not pretty, but it's not as bad as I'd thought it would be, at least not yet.
We still have power, which is a plus. It's blipped a few times, but so far keeps coming back.
Our whole neighborhood lost power for about a day during Ivan. A large oak tree decided to let go and took down the main power line along the river road.
Stay safe, and don't go near any down lines!
Good morn! Yep, partly sunny right now. I went to bed about 1:30 and did one of those things when you lay down *ding* wide awake. I was listening for twisters. Yuk. Never heard anything, last time I saw the clock it was 3-something a.m.
Howdy Amelia. Is it heading your way?
Tree still standing, I haven't looked at the base yet to see if it moved more. It sure swayed allot yesterday. I thought it was going to blow over a couple of times. Guess the roots are good, even tho the top is rotted.
Boy I feel sorry for the peoples in the Appalachians. Times are tough there already without getting your lives washed down the hillside.
