Hinojosa coordinating with Democratic leaders tonight Leading Hidalgo County Democrats and campaign contributors are meeting tonight to plan for a possible visit by Teresa Heinz Kerry to the Rio Grande Valley in early October.
Tonight's meeting, organized by U.S. Rep. Rubén Hinojosa (D-Mercedes), takes place at the Cornerstone Grill in Edinburg, Border Buzz has learned.
Valley Democrats view a visit by Heinz Kerry, wife of Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry, as a substitute for a campaign swing by vice presidential candidate John Edwards that never happened.
Edwards was due to visit McAllen in July for an event organized by Kerry's top Texas strategist Ben Barnes. Valley Democratic leaders said a last minute scheduling conflict stopped Edwards from coming. Hinojosa vowed at the time to get Kerry or Edwards to the Valley at some point during the campaign. With the focus now on battleground states, a visit by Heinz Kerry may be the best Valley Democrats can expect.
VIVA BUSH!
The Democrat presidential candidates always come here. Clinton, Gore and even Hillary all came down here several times.
When Gore was here, IIRC, he didn't particularly care for the food. I think it was Texas bar-b-que and texmex food. He gave some excuse for diet food. We'll see if Teresa takes a plate to go.
Surely, Spanish is one of the 5 languages that Teresa speaks. Maybe her speech will be in Spanish.
"if they can't duct-tape her mouth"
As far as I'm concerned, there is no duct tape left in the entire U.S.A. to shut her up. Thank Goodness!
I'm sure Eff'in is looking for some, but sorry... there was some trade dispute with Canada involving rotten potatoes or softwood lumber or some such thing ... and Canada got all the duct tape. :) Hoo-yah!
/Friday night weirdness off. For now. :)
I wonder if his current "woman" would want him to be her guardian when they marry?
Some of the dems in my area of Texas are so insane with hatred of President Bush, they really think they can win Texas.
"No, you don't HAVE to be a Texan to get on this list"
Hey, MeekOneGOP--I won't ask to be on this ping list, but I just wanted to say, I had the great good fortune to live in Texas for about six months in my misspent youth, when I was about 21 or so. :)
I've never met friendlier people anywhere. :)
Although my North Carolina boyfriend didn't like the Texas barbecue. ;)

"organized by Kerry's top Texas strategist Ben Barnes. Valley Democratic leaders said a last minute scheduling conflict"
Yeah, it's the same Ben Barnes. He was too busy in July making up forgeries about Bush's guard service to show up in the valley.
hehe!Well, many native Texans are friendly. :^D
Texas Bar-B-Q is the best. Even my own modest BBQ is good.
At least my wife and SIL tell me so. :^)
Thanks for thepingwarning.LOL! You got it. A warning is exactly what it was meant to be.
If she does come to the great Republic of Texas, I hope she gets a big Texas "welcome" .....
lol....wow, what a "treat"!!
Will she say "Let them Go Naked"?
lol....wow, what a "treat"!!My comment to TeRAYza??: "Bring it on, Beech!!" :^D
Well, let those dems get her going. Then you step up with a new thing for her to say:):) Hide in plain sight:)
The same Hinojosa who is chummy w/ Lucy Ramirez?
