On our way back home from a family drive on 8/29/04 my wife and I noticed a peculiar mushroom cloud just east of our home in Wellington, UT. We ran into the house and brought our both of our digital cameras and started snapping pictures. Within 2 hours there were three different explosions resulting in mushroom clouds.
We emailed a local news station; they looked into the pictures but to no avail. There were truck drivers parked at the gas station just down from our home, the drivers did not dare drive the road for fear of whatever was happening out there. Pretty scary afternoon, especially during this time of heightened alert in our nation.

Seems normal for a fire season event....call the USFS
Mrs. P just read your post!
Thanks for busting me!!!
You didn't say the load was EXPLOSIVE and you did not have your HAZMAT cards showing. Come on man, public safety is 1st. Ask Minetta, the SECRETARY OF TRANSPORTATION or is he a god, anyway, he'll agree with me.
It's guys like you that will have us down to our underwear when we board a Greyhound bus and totally nekkid to get on board a dang plane.
What county is this in? In what direction was the pic taken?
>>Maybe Pete finally got that 45 ft. BBQ trailer he was talking about :o)<<
Are you buying the beer?
Okay, nevermind the county, just re-read the post and saw it is Wellington, UT. But what direction was this taken from?
this is also on art bell's web site www.coasttocoastam.com
Um, no. I'm the bouncer, remember? Norm's buying the beer. I think it's Corona. Lot's of it.
Or was that Cuervo. I don't remember.
Heck, I found me a new source of cheap Latin American beer. .. betcha Im just floating around on a big boat doing diddly..
It's a german beer brewed by sandinista sympathizers.. the profits go to a bail out the Kerry campaign and fast fund.
It's called Kerry'n Red ;-)
betcha think Im (hic) :-]
I don't know... Late August with not much moisture can zap leaves pretty good. Besides, some of the trees ARE leaved, and thegrass is still green.
(Maybe them leafless trees are DEAD!)
