CONTROVERSIAL TEXAS RANCHER SAYS LOCKHART WANTED DOCUMENTS //

The source of a disputed CBSNEWS report claimed Thursday that Kerry adviser Joe Lockhart tried to "convince me as to why I should give them the documents." Texas Army National Guard Lt. Col. Bill Burkett tells the FORT WORTH STAR-TELEGRAM that he has suffered four seizures since being identified as CBS' source and dogged by the media... Developing...

Well, ya just had to ask that question! I read the article too, and I didn't see where he was alleging that Lockhart asked him for the documents. So unless there is another source for the charge, it's all been a fun time posting, nothing more.

The Dems have been planning this for 4 years.

That is my conclusion also. The DNC seeded this story (false documents and all) to the Kerry Campaign, who passed it to the Anti-Bush MSM World Headquarters at CBS/Rathergate Inc. Desperation (polling heading south faster than you can shake a stick) drove the Kerry Campaign and Rather to throw caution to the wind and run the story. They believed they would get away with this subterfuge based on years of past experience.

But they underestimated the blogosphere and the rest of the new media, and are justly reaping their whirlwind. I hope this story is fully investigated, as I have no doubt that it rises all the way to the top (and that does not stop with the hapless Kerry).

That's my question.... is it Abbot or Earle that has the charge.....

Earle: A state-funded division of the office investigates and prosecutes crimes related to the operation of state government, motor fuels tax fraud, insurance fraud, and workers' compensation fraud.

Abbot: In some circumstances, the Attorney General has original jurisdiction to prosecute violations of the law, but in most cases, criminal prosecutions by the Attorney General are initiated only upon the request of a local prosecutor.

How is the Kerry campaign's association with these forged documents any different than watergate? Why isnt this a HUGE scandal?

Because the MSM doesn't want it to be huge. They may want CBS's market share, but they don't want to see the DEM's unravel. After all they (MSM) are still commie-liberals -- they still want to control America's mind -- they see the threat of the carpet being pulled out from under them if this gets TOO ugly.

They don't want to lose their power -- but alas it is slippingggg...

Where is this story? This is what I found from the Fort Worth Star story published today:

Burkett denied his actions were done at the behest of the Kerry campaign, although he acknowledged -- as has Kerry's campaign -- that he spoke with a staff worker about Bush.

Dems response to charges will probably look something like this:

We know Bush had contact with BB for many years and have sound circumstantial evidence that BB actually purged Dubya’s guard records, how else would he have seen them in the trash. We also know that the then Governor Bush sent BB on a free lavish vacation to Panama. Unfortunately BB contracted a virus and was seeking medical care from the state of Texas, but after Bush bankrupted the state it just was not in the budget. Carl Rove then came up with a sophisticated scheme for BB to sue seeBS to cover his medical expenses and stuff his pockets while making wild accusations against the Kerry Campaign and stealing the 2004 election so Cheney can continue to run the country in the foreground so all republicans can continue their favorite past time of Barbecuing children on the weekends.

Seriously,
Joe Blockhead

Still confused here:

Burkett and Mapes claim Burkett was eager to pass the docs on to Lockhart.

Now Burkett says Lockhart was the one eager to get the documents.

Lockhart says they never discussed the documents.

WTF?

Of course Burkett has to defend the Kerry campaign. He hates Bush with all his heart and soul!

Thanks for posting that. I was trying to find info on BB. I suppose he thinks if he refers to himself as a retired Air Guard Commanding Officer on his ranting posts that it might give the impression that he is "in the know". I think this man is a pathological liar. Apparently, the star-telegram writer didn't do any research to confirm what guard branch he was with either.

Don't forget Mapes! The connection is undeniable, the difficulty is in proving it. Since they are all crooks their word is suspect.

I'm not seeing the name Max Cleland in this thread. I think he is a KEY in the link between CBS and DNC.

I think the DNC has had these docs since 2000 and you're right, probably Joe. He was brought on the Kerry campaign very recently. There was a reason.

And you're also right about the words. I'll have to look it up tomorrow. McAuliffe saying that the DNC had nothing to do with the distribution of these memos. He didn't say they had nothing to do with the creation of them.
