CBS spokesman Dana McClintock says the network has more than one thousand radio affiliates nationwide and that WNIS is the only one to drop CBS. None of the network's more than 200 television affiliates has done so. She is going to wish she never said that. It sounds like a direct challenge to me. What do you guys think? Shoud we release the hounds?

Monday on 550 AM WKRC in Cincinnati they made an announcement right before the cBS/Dan Rather 5:00pm news update saying that in light of what CBS had done they were not going to broadcast the 5:00 update. While the update would have been airing, they played a repeated collage of:
1. "Liar" by 3 Dog Night
2. "Lies" by one of the 60's psychadelic groups (somebody help me I cant remember who that was)
3. A Nat King Cole (I think) song where he sang "Lie To Me" - dont know the name of that one either.
It was pretty funny.
I can't say for sure if they are still doing it - at least until I go home from work today..... :-)

Maybe we in Indiana, solid GOP country, should get WIBC to stop airing Dan the Man's news readings, too. MM?

A bit of improvement, perhaps. But ABC is hardly the bastion of fairness. Still, a good development. If a price is paid by CBS like this, ABC may clean up its act.

ABC, NBC, FOX, UPN, CNN, all have a workforce dedicated to finding New Markets and SeeBS is currently extremely vulnerable to that cutthroat competition.
This station, whatever their press release states, simply had a better offer. Business for profit first. Viewership is only numbers.
I hope they (cbs) get their clocks cleaned!!!!! <|:-)~~

KPRC 9:50 am in Houston dumped CBS the next day after Rather gave his wimpy apology. I think this article is not correct.

VIACOM Shareholder?
Let them know you want an investigation into how this happened. Dan Rather shouldn't be the sacrificial lamb for misdeeds & corruption by higher ups. CBS will be destroyed by this - and VIACOM stock will plummet.
If you have any shareholder-related comments, please contact Viacom's Investor Relations Department at 1-800-516-4399.

I admit this is a pretty dumb question, but I honestly don't know the answer. How easy is it for a television affiliate to disassociate with the CBS network? Is that even possible? If so, we should be hammering the TV stations and telling them that we refuse to watch anything on their channels until they dump CBS.

My message to our local affiliate...
Today I regretfully deleted KWON 1400 from my preset radio stations. We get a really good signal here, and I enjoy your programming. Sadly, though, your station, like many others, is tainted by the stench emanating from your affiliation with CBS news. In my wildest dreams, I never would have imagined that a major media source would knowingly use fabricated information against the president of the United States, even if that source's most well-known broadcaster has shown open contempt for the president and his family for years.
Please let me know if you decide to denounce CBS's slurs against our country's leader by dropping your affiliation with CBS news.
