Prayer request for my Dad
me ^ | 9/23/04 | texasflower

Posted on 09/23/2004 3:51:08 AM PDT by texasflower

Hi everyone. My Dad has had two strokes in the last few days. He is only 64 years old. So far, he is very weak and confused but is still able to talk. The doctor is warning of the strong possibility of more strokes with progressing severity.

Will you please pray for my dad and my family as we deal with this?

Thank you all. It means so much.

Hi,

I am just about to send out an update ping to everyone that responded to the prayer request for my dad.

He's the one that voted just before he died.

I don't know if you did send pictures and his story to the President, but since you asked if I would mind, I thought I would reply to you personally.

My mother has recieved a letter from President Bush AND from former President Bush!

I haven't seen them yet, but the letters reference each other so we know they aren't form letters!

The letters mean so much to my mom and to all of us. I just thought I would let you know.

Thank you if you did send them and thank you for the thought if you didn't get the chance to send it!

Either way, I was touched by your post.

Tammy

Everytime I see your name on a thread I think of your father and his story. It touched me beyond belief! What an amazing man your father was.
I am so pleased that President Bush learned of his dedication and wrote to your mother.
I think it is swell that you are waiting to read the letters yourself. (I don't think I could be so patient)!
Very special blessings to you this Christmas, Texasflower, I know you will miss your father!

I told every one the story of your Dad and truthfully he is the first person I thought of as I stayed up late that night to hear President Bush announced the winner. I am so thankful . I am thankful that the President and his Dad wrote to you. God bless them for taking the time to write to people personally, when doing so can help heal people or at least start the healing process.

I understand what you mean about the letters. I am sure you will be filled with emotion as you read them... and I am certain your Dad's hand will be upon your shoulder as you do.

Merry Christmas to you and your family. Godspeed to your Dad. Thank you so much for sharing this story with us. It is a beautiful story indeed!

Father, in the Name of Jesus we lift this man to you for healing. Have mercy on him Lord and grant him many more years. I bind all hinderances to this man's complete healing and loose thy angels to surround him with shields up and swords drawn. No weapon formed against him shall prosper. Father, please grant him at least the 70 years spoken in you holy Word. In Jesus' Name, amen.

I believe this has been one of the most interesting and heart-warming personal accounts I've read in my many years on FR. Thanks for sharing with us.....and do let us know the contents of the letters if your mom so desires.

What wonderful Americans make up the Tammy family!

What a heart warming story.

And how pleasing to see that President Bush and former President Bush are worthy of the vote your father was determined to give them, even unto death. He is happy where he knows!

If the letters are not too personal, and your mother does not mind sharing, we would LOVE to at least read little snippets.

God bless you all and comfort you.

What great news to begin the day!

Thanks for continuing to share this story of your father's determination to vote. How many folks this touched you may never know. What a tale to pass on to future family members!

Dear texasflower, I will remember you and your father in my prayers. I went through the same thing with my Mom some 15 years ago, and I feel such sympathy... My Mom recovered after brain surgery, and it did take a long time. But God was with us, always.

Dear Lord, bless this family and give them the strength and comfort they need at this terrible time.

Don't leave us hanging like this...we want letter highlights!! (If you are willing to share some of the less personal parts).

Thank you for sharing your father with us. You moved me to tears over a period of several days...and everytime I come back to this thread, I am moved to tears again for the love that is evident in your every word!

God bless you and your family!
Tracy
