Kerry charges Bush proposing a Draft
KVI Radio - Seattle ^ | September 22, 2004 | John Carlson

Posted on 09/22/2004 5:05:51 PM PDT by AWestCoaster

The talk show host pointed out the proposal is in Congress....BUT, according to him, the only names on the bill are 1 - Democrats, 2 - Liberal 3 - The Obnoxious: Conyers, Stark, Jackson-Lee, McDermott, etc.

No Republicans. Period.

and now the President will use Senator Kerry's stupidity and beat him over the head with it. Especially since Senator Kerry is the one who broached the subject.

this is great. The moron is giving the President room to manuever himself out of any possible good position....

Democrats count on the ignorance of their constituency.

Simply put, stupid people are easily manipulated.

The Kerry campaign will be full liar mode between now and the election. It comes down to this. Anybody who loves lies will vote for Kerry. Anybody who loves honesty will vote for President Bush. That is what this election is all about.

This is old. The "Twin Bills" have been stalled in committee since Jan '03.

Someone confronted me with this at work-"Bush is secretly implementing a draft for AFTER the election!" he crowed triumphantly. I asked him who authored the House and Senate bills. He didnt know. Imagine his chagrin when I showed him it was Charlie Rangel and Fritz Hollings!

Our President has to expose this as another Kerry lie. Once you can ruin his credibility, (I know, he has none) but the voters do not like being lied to. This is an opportunity to really score major points. I rather doubt it will happen.

Guess they can't get any traction from the National Guard story, let's bring up a proposed Democrat bill and pass it off as a Bush bill.

Didn't John F. Kennedy institute the draft in the 1960s?

As a freshman in high school, I am sorry that I have to report that some of my classmates are buying this stuff. If you have any young people in your life be sure they know that it is Democrates-not Republicians, that want them to be forced into the military

I so agree with this. Bush needs to respond to this one, because it can only make him look good and Kerry look like the bumbling idiot he is.

Karl Rove are you listening???

I'll agree with you, except that a large portion of Democrats live in....shall we say.....blissful ignorance.

They don't want to know any more than what they can get "the fortunate" (me, you and just about everyone else who bothers to achieve in this society) to pay for them.

The only persons you would expose the lie to would be those that were aware of it anyway. But, I am gaining hope with those like Buckhead and several of you (all) on FR, we may just make some headway.

John Kerry is like the snotty little kid we all went to school with who was always pointing his finger at someone, like it was a hobby. "TEACH-errrrrrr...George stuck his booger on my desk!!!" (When in fact, John Kerry picked his nose, and put his own booger there to go with his made up story) "TEACH-errrrrr...are you going to punish George and send him to the principal's office? TEACH-errrrrr? Are you, huh?"

These bills, S.89 and H.R. 163, were written as symbolic gestures by Rangel et al to protest our actions in Iraq. I don't believe they are meant to be legislation and it never went on the floor but straight to committee. I very much doubt that the Dems, whose names are on the bills and who opposed Pres. Bush's war on terrorism, would want to have the bills pass and spend the money to fund it.

Exactly! Ignorance is the food of the liberal agenda. Without ignorant, self-serving YELLOW DOG libs, the Dems would have been gone a long time ago...

How would Kerry know? He's not present in the Senate enough to find out.

This infuriates me.

We have the greatest military in the world. An ALL VOLUNTEER army.

If Kerry is elected, people will leave our military in droves rather than to serve him and the U.N.

Kerry will then be forced in institute a draft.

Bush needs to address this NOW...it's all over the campuses...I've already had this debate with two friends of my 22yo son...and he didn't believe me.

The draft (Selective Service Act) was put into effect after America entered WW1. It was around for a long time!
