Kid Rock has blasted his rock peers who are involved with politics - because none of them flew to Iraq to perform for their war heroes.
The rocker wowed troops when he and actress Brittany Murphy jetted off to meet and greet soldiers in Baghdad last year, and now he's angry that those who didn't salute men and women stationed in Iraq are touring to raise cash for President George W. Bush's rival John Kerry on the Vote For Change tour.
He states, "You see this thing now where like Bruce Springsteen, Jon Bon Jovi - like I love all these guys as musicians - they're gonna raise money for John Kerry. God bless 'em."
"But, before you go and do that, why don't these motherf***ers go over there and play for our soldiers in Iraq? I'm not vocal about my views on the war. I'm just vocal about my views on the troops."
Rock, real name Bob Ritchie, insists rockers have no right getting involved with politics.
He adds, "I do not believe that artists or actors and people should be out there like voicing their full-blown opinions on politics because, let's face it, at the end of the day, I'm not that smart of a guy. I play rock 'n' roll, that's what I do.
"Who would you trust to make your decisions, (Secretary of Defense) Donald Rumsfeld or the Dixie Chicks?"
Rock made his remarks while hosting an MTV barbecue for a group of soldiers returning from Iraq at his ranch home in Detroit, Michigan.
The rocker admitted he'll always be immensely proud of the soldiers he has met: "They don't make the decisions. They get up and go do their job."
HEY KID-
Rock on Brother Kid! Rock on and keep showin' those troops some love!
You can do America proud by your actions!
(I happen to know he is looking at this thread!) ;}

Kid Rock ping
Amen!!God Bless our Military folks!!
Paraphrasing a quote from Kid Rock from a while back:
"When George Bush tells me how to play guitar, I'll tell him how to run the country."
I have only heard Kid Rock on the radio and seen him on TV, I too have to buy one of his CD's, maybe another Freeper here can recommend a CD.

Kid is from my hometown...Romeo, Michigan a wonderful, small, Republican town 30 miles north of Detroit. President Bush stopped there on Labor Day 2000 and was greeted by crowds cheering "Bulldogs for Bush" (high school mascot) The Kid comes from good roots...
Thank You, Diva Betsy Ross
Yeah, alQaeda soldiers.
no problem Deadhead! I hope you will find something there that you like!
His latest is titled "Kid Rock". I prefer the "radio-friendly" version (read sanitized). "Hillbilly Stomp" is a classic.
His first hit CD was "Devil Without A Cause". Some great tracks.
ROCK ON KID!!! You are an American Bad-Ass!!
Kid Rock is from the Alice Cooper litter. :))
He visited the troops in Germany as well.
You got that right, wish there were more like him.
