Jimmy Carter Supports Troop Withdrawal Timetable (Carter as idiotic as ever)
CBS 46 Atlanta ^ | September 21, 2004

Posted on 09/22/2004 5:57:01 AM PDT by FreedomPoster

Former President Jimmy Carter says setting a date to withdraw troops from Iraq could reduce the violence besetting that country.

Carter spoke at a town hall meeting tonight at the Carter Center in Atlanta. He said the apparent long-term presence of American troops is sustaining the violence in Iraq.

Carter was responding to a question posed during the event.

Carter said he would like to see troops withdraw as early as next year if Iraqis show they can establish a self-sustained government.

He also said he would be willing to visit Iraq and help establish a democratic government if asked by the United Nations or U-S government.

Wife had SeeBS on, watching the Amazing Race finale, and this came on the local news just after. So I saw the video version of this, and started yelling at the TV.

He said the apparent long-term presence of American troops is sustaining the violence in Iraq.

So it's all our fault the Islamoterrorists from around the Middle East are attacking us in Iraq. Has nothing to do with the inherent evil of radical Islam. Typical "blame America first" Liberal lunacy from Jimmah, who needs to spend more time building Habitat houses, and less time commenting on important issues of the day.

I used to think Carter meant well, but was just a misguided Lefty. Over the last several years, I've come to the conclusion that he's really actively working sinister outcomes.

How apropos that he's a peanut farmer because that's about the size of his brain. Isn't it time for his vacation in Havana?

Why would anyone listen to anything Carter had to say about reforming Iraq when he firmly opposed the war to begin with?

Not content with being the worst President of the last half of the 20th century, Jimmah now wants to be the worst ex-President as well.

Excuse me.

Are we supposed to care what this addle-brained, mumble-mouthed, appeaser of totalitarian regimes has to say?

Didn't think so.

Wake me when somebody of real import has anything to say.

"Carter said he would like to see troops withdraw as early as next year if Iraqis show they can establish a self-sustained government."

I would be for troop withdrawal today if the Iraqis could establish a self-sustained government, including security. Too bad wishing for it doesn't translate into reality.

Carter's foreign policy was a total failure, yet even now he continues to insert his misguided opinions into the national dialogue. IMO he has no "standing" with regard to commenting on any US matters abroad.

Jimmy Carter was a silly man as Governor, a very silly man as President, and a foolish man as ex-President.
He did have one great skill though, the ability to convince others he was competent.

I am assuming the Carter Center in Altanta is a garage filled with peanut husks and pallots stacked with unopened cans of Billy beer.

Over the entrance the sign "Appeasement Abounds" can be seen.

Proving once again why he was the worst president in American history. Has absolutely NO clue about the use of military power.

Carter really needs to go back to building houses and keeping his mouth shut. He's already caused enough damage this year with his confirming the "fairness" of the election in Venezuela which has given us another totalitarian regime to worry about.

I wonder if Carter would get Secret Service Protection in a padded cell in some mental institution?

The way he's talkiing he's becoming more and more unhinged from reality.
