ABC News (890 AM/Chicago) is reporting the following:
The wife and daughter of recently beheaded hostage Jack Hensley taped an interview when they had found out about his capture and the threat against his life. They had asked Al-Kathab (we know them as Al-Jazeera) to show the video so that the terrorists could see them begging and crying for mercy for their beloved. Al-Kathab, which has been showing the beheadings, told the family that they were "too busy" to show their tape on the network; they said that they "might show the tape tomorrow (which is now today)." --- They said this knowing the deadline for his life, and despite their hardest pleas.
Al-Kathab (Al-Jazeera) has not, as of yet, shown the video. Jack Hensley was beheaded today.
Not that the pleas would have made a difference to the terrorists, but it might have put a human face on the victims. It would ring hollow among the extremists, but might have opened the eyes and hearts of many in the region who are quietly supporting the terrorists and their beheadings in the hopes of seeing the coalition fail. It is much harder to support such actions when you see the families, and Al-Kathab damn well knows this. It is why they go out of their way to try and show the grieving after every U.S. counter-strike; it is why they go out of their way to interview crying widows who say that the U.S. is deliberately targeting civilians. They have never been "too busy" before, never.
But lest they put a face on the westerners, the invaders. Lest they show that the innocent are being targeted by the terrorists, not the coalition. Lest they show the gut-wrenching tears of a wife and daughter, begging that the life of their husband/father be spared. Lest they show that the terrorists are not freedom-fighters fighting the holy Jihad to expel the evil imperialist westerners, but murderers kidnapping and brutally beheading the innocent who had wielded no weapon against them. No, they can't have that......
The terrorist broadcast network known as Al-Jazeera needs to carry just such a moniker: "The terrorist network Al-Jazeera."
I for one will continue to call them by their rightful name, Al-Kathab. "Al-Kathab," incidentally, means "the liar." I can think of no better name.
Too busy for the pleas of a wife and daughter, but never to busy to show a terrorist demand. They are truly shameless.

These "people" are clearly the enemy and should be treated as such.
It may be just as well it was not shown. It would likely have made no difference, plus those evil, despicable people would have gotten pleasure watching the suffering of this poor family.
How my heart goes out to them. This is unimaginably evil.
What's with the name change?
This guy has killed so many people, that the appropriate punishment for him is hard to dream up. Maybe he should be tied to a chair in a locked room, and the family of each of his victims should get to visit him one at a time.
Al-Jazeera: The voice of the enemy.
I have nothing but contempt for Al Jazeera, but I do not have much more for what has become the standard drill with these hostages; the sobbing, the "please give them what they want" pleas from the captive and their families, etc.
I asked my WWII vet father why none of these captives, so far, has had the courage of a Nathan Hale "I regret that I have but one life to give for my country."
His answer was simple and profound: "Hale was in it for the fight. These are in it for the money."
Why not send cruise missile to "visit" Al Jerkzeera?
Death to the barbarians.
Much worse than shameless; they are terrorist sympathisers; enablers.
Cannot do it now; he has to have a term in front of him.
Go put yourself in their place...then you will have the right to judge them. Until then, get off your high horse.

None of us know how we would react, but I would hope and pray that I would show more courage and conviction than all except the Italian who pulled off his hood and shouted "I'll show you how an Italian dies!" have displayed.
The weeping and wailing is just playing in to these savages hands. We need some heroic martyrs and soon.
Can we fight with the enemy's tactics and the enemy's cruelty and then halt after having won? Can we exterminate the enemy and his families and not become as cold and dead inside as he?
Can we avoid becoming the enemy?
We must prevail at both.
Al Jazeera needs to become Al-Kaboom!
Way overdue for a cruise missile. I am sick of them being the mouthpiece for murderers.
Since they are complicit in aiding the terrorists, they are a legitimate military target.

But these men never intended to be martyrs...and I do believe that a lot of them are really there because they want to help. Not just for the money. Good men that believe in the goodness in others...now knowing that the last time they saw their families, was indeed, the last time. How does one prepare themselves for something like this? Waiting for those minutes, knowing what was coming. I cannot fathom the absolute and complete terror these men were forced to face.
AL Jazeera is nothing more than a ROP terrorist propaganda agency that should be destroyed. I thought the AL Jazeera thugs had been thrown out of Iraq?
