PARLOCK UPDATE
For those still interested:
Just received a call from the IUPAT, which has now identified the union member who grabbed the Bush/Cheney sign from Phil Parlock's daughter and threw the pieces at the family as they left the event. "We are taking steps to deal with the individual," the union told me. Meanwhile, President Bush sent the little girl a new sign that read:
"Dear Sophia, Thank you for supporting my campaign. I understand someone tore up your sign. So I am sending you a new sign and a signed picture."
Sweet.

I hope you're right. Unfortunately, my experience with unions (business related) has shown me that what they say and what they do are two different things. Again, I'm hoping things turn out as you're predicting and they do stick it to the guy because that's what ought to happen. BTW, was there more than one guy involved and will they catch it too?

I'm glad that got settled. The resemblance was so strong, I was wondering. I wouldn't have been surprised had it gone the other way but I leaned towards it being for real--that jerk radiated too much smug satisfaction to be a plant. Body language didn't seem to say "I'm a really bad amatuer actor whose dad put me up to staging this" at all.

not just a lie but the Dirty Underpants crew was lauding Bill Burkett as a brave man for speaking out. Now we know CBS knowingly colluded in the crime wow what courage it was....I heard they decided this morning Burkett is a Rovian plant.
LOL

Fair is fair. Release the goons name. His 15 minutes of fame for strongarming a 3 yr. old girl is not quite over yet.

"I have recently become addicted to going over there just to laugh at them." On election night, if it's the blowout we think it will be, show up there wearing a "I Love Halliburton" sweatshirt, carry a big Bush/Cheney sign, and run by yelling, "Four More Years! Four More Years! Four More Years!"
Election night '02 was absolutely the best time over on DU. At least for republican disrupters!
The highlight was a pop up hacked onto their home page with "All your senate are belong to us". It had to be a freeper.
It got so bad for the DUh's that they shut down the site to everyone except paying members for 4 or 5 days.

That's unfair to the union. Within hours of this incident, the president of the union had issued a strong condemnation of the action, an apology to the Parlocks, and a promise to take strong action against the offender. And I'll give odds he'll do it. Having a member smirking at a terrified crying three year old is NOT the kind of face any union is trying to show. Mr. Baseball Cap is gonna catch it in the shorts.
you're wrong. the union described the individual as "overzealous," not the word one would choose if one was strongly condemning the action, or, in fact, outraged by it.
the union chose a euphemism; a word designed to soft pedal.
and the only reason the union did even that?
money.
thugs. the left are thugs.

I'm betting he'll get a nice leather jacket out of the deal. He won't lose his job, he won't be condemned in whatever socialist rag the union prints (such as the UAW's "Solidarity"), and it's guaranteed to blow over in the press.

I have to give credit to the union for being forthright about this matter.
CBS could learn a lot from them.

Ha!
HA!!
I have been the recipient of similar treatment (though not with a baby on my back, thankfully). I am so glad they weren't able to tar this man as a faker. What's gonna be their angle now, that Parlock and his angelic children provoked and incited them to violence? Good luck with that...
HA HA! Vindication!
