Malmø, Sweden. The police now publicly admit what many Scandinavians have known for a long time: They no longer control the situation in the nations's third largest city. It is effectively ruled by violent gangs of Muslim immigrants. Some of the Muslims have lived in the area of Rosengård, Malmø, for twenty years, and still don't know how to read or write Swedish. Ambulance personnel are attacked by stones or weapons, and refuse to help anybody in the area without police escort. The immigrants also spit at them when they come to help. Recently, an Albanian youth was stabbed by an Arab, and was left bleeding to death on the ground while the ambulance waited for the police to arrive. The police themselves hesitate to enter parts of their own city unless they have several patrols, and need to have guards to watch their cars, otherwise they will be vandalized. "Something drastic has to be done, or much more blood will be spilled" says one of the locals.

The number of people emigrating from the city of Malmø is reaching record levels. Swedes, who a couple of decades ago decided to open the doors to Muslim "refugees" and asylum seekers, are now turned into refugees in their own country and forced to flee their homes. The people abandoning the city mention crime and fear of the safety of their children as the main reason for leaving.

ALL of the 600 windows at one of the schools in Malmø have been broken during the summer holiday. Window smashing alone costs the city millions every year. City buses have been forced to avoid the immigrant ghetto, as they are met with youths throwing rocks or bottles at them if they enter. Earlier this year, a boy of Afghan origin had made plans to blow up his own school.

People working at the emergency ward at the major hospital in Malmø receive threats every day, and are starting to get used to it. Patients with knives or guns are commonplace. They have discussed having metal detectors at the emergency entrance, but some fear this could be seen as a provocation.

Sweden's politicians view arranged marriages as a positive tradition: a cultural pattern that immigrants should be allowed to preserve even in Sweden. The Swedish government feels that interfering in arranged marriages is an encroachment upon private life. In addition, immigrant couples can apply for family reunification in Sweden even if they've never seen each other before - as long as the marriage is entered in a culture with a tradition of parents arranging marriages on behalf of their children. A 2002 study by Växjö University economics professor Jan Ekberg found that immigration cost Swedish taxpayers DKK 33 billion that year, compared to just DKK 10 billion in Denmark. And while one might assume that the rise in costs would result in knee-jerk opposition to immigration, just the opposite has happened in Sweden. You bring a bit of balance to this thread and that is good.
I have never been to Sweden and I know little of that nation. Blue eyed blondes with lots of vacation time which they like to spend in southern Europe while running around naked is about it concerning my knowledge.
.I did live in Germany for several years and I saw lots of Europe including other Countries. Europe is clearly Socialist, and their social policies cannot be supported economically without increased immigration. They (Europeans) simply are not willing to reproduce enough which is in contrast to the very first commandment given unto man in the book of Genesis, but I digress. That immigration is now coming from Muslim entities and there is going to be a price to be paid for that.
Pat Buchanan wrote about this a few years ago in "Death of the West." Pat is proving to be a prophet concerning these matters. I am surprised to learn that Sweden is so impacted by these trends already. I anticipated that France would be the first to implode from within. Perhaps that will still prove to be the case.

I have been to Sweden, I have seen what this article is describing, and it is not accurate as of January 2000. So I asked people who live there. They say the situation is not as this article describes as of this morning. Get over it. The world doesn't end at the Tapanzee Bridge.

I am convinced the battle of "The West" vs. Islam, if it continues on its current path, will ultimately result in the rise in the west of something similar to the Nazi's Third Reich. Western cultures will eventually get tired of being forced to adapt to fit immigrants of a radically different culture. This is the reverse of traditional immigration to the west, where the immigrants adapted to western culture. Witness Canada allowing Shira law to be used to resolve disputes among muslims. If stronger measures are not taken to preserve the cultures of western societies, more radical anti-muslim western political leaders will gain clout, and eventually a voter backlash against the muslims will result in the radical anti-muslim politicians winning elections. This could ultimately resulting in segregation of muslims from the general population, and perhaps even stronger measures, especially if there are major terrorist attacks.
And, God forbid, if there is ever a nuclear terrorist attack on a western nation, it would be easy for a radical western leader to run for political office on a "the only good muslim is a dead muslim" platform, and potentially win, resulting in a "final solution" to "the muslim problem."
I believe we have act now to preserve western culture and preserve the ideals of the Renaissance and the American Revolution. We cannot allow well-meaning, but misguided liberals to allow the establishment of sub-cultures in western societies that directly conflict with western ideals about the rule of law and individual liberty. To do so is to intentionally create a volatile situation. It sets these societies up for a potentially very ugly internal conflict.
We must take a long-term view on all of our decisions. Both Sweden, tolerating arranged marriages, even when it violates the individual liberties of those involved, and Canada, establishing Shira courts, even when it violates the individual liberties of those involved, doing these things in the name of "tolerance", will only breed intolerance in the long term.
I hope I am wrong, but in case I am not, consider yourself warned.

And, by the years 1944-1945 that you talk about, about a zillion Americans and other western allies including my father were busy fighting and dying to make life hell for the huns and to get them off your back.
After D-Day they had less time for chasing down Danish fishing boats, but no thanks to Sweden.
Look: History is that the government of Sweden cut a deal with Hitler to avoid the feared invasion. In return for not being attacked, and for supplies of German coal at ultra cheap prices, Sweden provided Hitler with desperately needed iron ore and other concessions, including transit and overflight rights. You talk about what an asset they were in the later years of the war. What about the first years, when the damage was being done?
They called themselves neutral but neutrality is not selling arms to both sides. That's called "war profiteering."
Furthermore, this wasn't the first time. Sweden did essentially the same thing in WW I.
Some governments acquitted themselves heroically in WW II. Denmark was one.
Sweden was not. My own grandparents, who came over on the boat from Goteborg, and now distant relatives who stayed there through the war, had no illusions about this. You need not either.

They have lived in Sweden for 20 years and do not know how to read or write the language yet? Hmmmmm. I wonder if Sweden will give up their language as has been proposed here? Of course, there are Mexicans in this country who have been here for longer than 20 yrs who don't read or write the language! In fact, I know some who don't know the language but were GIVEN citizenship under Clinton so they can now vote legally. Gosh, I remember my Norwegian grandmother not being able to get her citizenship for years until she learned the language well enough to understand and recite her pledge of allegiance to our flag! So why are the thugs in Sweden not just deported? And why on earth are we not deporting the violators of our laws here?
